Given to Fly ... to Asia

I was looking at the tour dates in pearljam.com and couldn't help but wondering - Whendaheck are you guys gonna come down to asia??? Few years ago pj was in japan, yah ok ... but what about other parts of asia? Specifically, SouthEast Asia, and more specifically Malaysia. The closest pj came here was singapore in 1996 which was like what, 11 years ago??
I can assure you the pj fan base here is Huge! (probably not many sign up Ten Club... but then again, it's Huge!)

Good thing there's this pearljamlive.com - I can enjoy the songs at full volume and imagine being at the concerts ....

    Where in Malaysia are you from?? I was just there last year for a month, and this past winter i made a few stops at the KL airport in between thailand and vietnam. loved it...awesome place, especially the cameron highlands and lankawi...melaka too, but its too hot there for a north american whity like me...

    as for PJ playing se asia, i would say that malaysia would be as good a bet as any for them to come to in the region. i could see them playing in KL sometime...what are some of the big arenas there??

    national indoor stadium...i heard muse played there a couple of months ago. and there's the new klcc convention centre or something.

    glad you enjoyed your time in malaysia. its visit malaysia year this year and we're celebrating our 50th year of independence. maybe the boys will come and visit. if not, someday...

    I think you're thinking of 1995. They toured the US east coast and Europe in 1996.

    And while the fan base down there might be 'huge', i'm sure it's no bigger than the 'South'. Now, i'm not knocking your country/region, but if they don't tour the south during a MAJOR tour, i don't think they'll tour Malaysia any time soon. You'd have to imagine there'd be more 10C fans in Texas than Malaysia, and they didn't get a show in 2006.

    yeah, the whole fifty year thing was being hyped pretty big when i was stuck in the airport this past january...must be pretty exciting! the whole SEATO conferance was going on when i was there in '06, which was a big deal as well...

    great place. i love SE ASIA!! that's why i study it, i guess...i'll be coming back to the region this next winter again, but probably spending time in combodia, laos, and vietnam again...not positive though. KL is the major hub for everything though, so a stop off, maybe back to lankawi, would not be a bad thing!
