Hey guys, I posted this in the main forum as well. Was thinking a DVD, like the the Touring Band 2000, would be a good idea of a mix of the 12 Aussie shows this time. I have been to both the Melbourne shows so far and going again tonight, and I reckon they are in fine form at the moment. As someone mentioned, they are peaking here rather than warming up this time. What are your thoughts on this?

they have been peaking the whole tour

  • No doubt they have. My point more was that last tour they started in Australia and were blowing out the cobwebs so to speak. They were still very good, but not quite as tight and Ed fluffed some songs with wrong lyrics. So given they are in peak condition, thought it could be good for a change, particularly for those from outside of Australia. I know I enjoyed seeing the band on DVD in Europe and US, as you get an insight to the type of venues, crowds, and some footage from another country. Also for Aussie fans, it's a chance to keep a visual momento.

there is no way they will release a DVD of Oz- Purely cause the crowds are shit!! They are releasing a DVD of the 5 Italian shows which were amazing.

Sydney 1 was brilliant. The crowd was loud and the singing along with the songs was incredible.

I am actually disappointed about how quiet the crowd is on the bootleg mix: I enjoy the versions that I filmed myself better.

Also, one thing we all need to remember is that this isn't 1992 anymore. The fans are older and some of the younger ones are coming for the curiosity factor more than anything, so they aren't rocking out.

And, something that I have noticed, being a non-Ten club member who has had brilliant seats everytime I have seen Pearl Jam, is that some of the Ten Club fans can be really arrogant and more concerned about how many shows they have seen than actually rocking out. Just an observation, as a lot of the Ten members are great too.
  • All the Italian shows were professionally recorded for a DVD. The DVD will be from Italy (unless they're unhappy with the footage). They are not professionally recording the Oz shows (and footage for the 'big screens' at the gigs are not used for professionally released DVD's-they are often used for TV, though).

    Randall
    My Pearl Jam shows: 1 in 1995, 2 in 1998, 20 in 2003, 13 in 2006, 3 in 2007, 8 in 2008, 5 in 2009, 4 in 2010, 5 in 2012. EV: 8 in 2011, 1 in 2012. Brad: 1 in 1998, 1 in 2002.
  • Randall, how the hell do you know all that? If that's the case, I must say I feel a little disappointed. I'm not complaining though, I will still get any DVD of the tour, but would have been really great if it were for Oz as we have 12 shows here and I don't think I have seen them in better form. Oh well, that's life, the Italians will be happy though. Pinched our DVD like they pinched our World Cup destiny, those pesky Italians! Be nice though if they could do even a cheaply put together Div like the audio bootlegs, but think that's just dreaming.
