I tend to agree. One, they will play til curfew and I don't see them playing for four hours. Two, when have they ever played a show with an intermission break. Not really their style.
6:30pm set start with a 5pm doors opening time would seem to be a stretch for the security check teams. Haven't PJ delayed start times before because of slow admission lines? And 5pm on a work day in Boston is in the thick of the commuter rush for the T and highways. But an acoustic set would be amazing! Hope its true and also for Sunday!
they have started a show before with 10% of the fans in the seats (7/11/03) while they did they acoustic set. However they did inform everyone of the start time the night before. the tickets say 630.
I bet it's 730 start as that is what ten club said. 630 may b leaking to get as many ppl there as early as possible so security lines aren't as big of an issue.
Bullshit rumors I tend to agree. One, they will play til curfew and I don't see them playing for four hours. Two, when have they ever played a show with an intermission break. Not really their style.
7/11/2003 would qualify, no? And it was phenomenal.
Due to circumstances out of our control, the Pearl Jam sound check has been canceled this afternoon. We apologize for any inconvenience.
**Doors open at 5:00pm and the show starts approximately at 6:30pm.**
looks like they pushed soundcheck back to yesterday to possibly add some playing time tonight? if I were you guys I would be in my seat at 6:30 just in case. lucky bastards.

Totally different circumstances. They knew they had Sleater Kinney to play in between and they were trying to play their touring catalog (which they didn't haha) and they told people they were playing early. One of the biggest shows of the year and they're gonna go on at 630 when their fan club emailed members about a 730 set time. Just don't buy it.

Yeah that 10 Club email is really the key here, I think. I would be shocked if they came out at 630 after that email, I don't think they'd do that to fanclub members

As someone already mentioned, PJ is probably letting the rumors float just to get people in there so they can start by 7:30 or so. (no response from my multiple requests for confirmation) I saw a picture of the security line @ Gate B to get into McCartney and it was almost all the way back to Boylston Street. Screening's going to be intense for this show, I'm expecting long lines to get in.
I'm still going to get in ASAP, but I would be surprised if it's a 6:30 start.

I guess we shall see. Just kinda disappointed the fan club would tell people 730 set time.

did you think that could have been the plan from the beginning, and circumstances outside their control might have made them change? or perhaps they want to play longer?

I'm all for spontaneous creative ideas that will no doubt be amazing. I'm also for transparency. If this is something that popped up the last couple days, then I don't see why ten club can't send out an email saying to disregard the 730 set time they alluded to.
And they've typically broken the Curfew in Boston for a couple extra songs in the past.
