This perfect (for me, at least, lol) album was released today in 1973. Over the years I've found myself giving this album a spin every 3-6 months (at most, lol), and it still sounds as good today as it did on first listen. The musical and lyrical genius of the piece is clear.

As I listen to the alternate mix from the Immersion box set, I can't help but feel it appropriate that The Great Gig In The Sky uses an audio recording from the Apollo 17 mission, the last that took humans to the surface of the moon.

I'll see you on the dark side of the moon, lol!

    There's something about the laughter in the alternate (early) mix of Brain Damage that is just so...lunaticky, lol. As good as the final version is, I like this one better, lol.
