Blown away by the show in Minneapolis last night. This stuff sounds really great live.

    Beat me to it...

Great show and sounded good. The most onstage banter ive ever heard from Brian.

That's Dan, same guy that had the great front row center video of the 2014 St. Paul PJ show. He put the entire show up on a playlist (which I'm guessing you found  )

Awesome show last night at the HOB in Chicago. The new songs sounded great live. Brian looks like he's having a blast up there. I really liked Jared Hart and the few songs he played to open up things.

Sunday night shows are rough. Didn't get home until midnight and had to work today. I'm getting too old for this shit!

I've been listening to his old song The Blues, Mary on YouTube the past few days. Man, this is a great song, I wish it was on his solo album!

Haven't at all been worried about the fate of Gaslight until now.

Still think they will be back but this statement raised my eyebrows a bit.

Doesn't make sense to me at all especially that half his band is gaslight.

I knew Brian was going through some rough times with his divorce, but didn't realize it was that bad. I still think Gaslight will be back again at some point. It just may not be anytime soon.

Give it some more time. I think Brian is being a little dramatic.
He specifically said "if we don't come up with something that is good then we wont do another record." So they are at least going to try to write more gaslight songs. I have full confidence that once they start playing gaslight songs again, they wont be able to walk away.
I can see a tour to promote nothing prior to another album, which could spark something.

They will be back. Personally don't see why people don't like the last two albums, TONS of good songs on them. I think Handwritten is at the top of my list for TGA albums and at least 6-7 really solid songs on Get hurt. Both are a ton better than American Slang.

I could see Handwritten not being loved. Has some really good songs on there, but not the best as an overall album. I don't understand people not liking Get Hurt....think it's one of their best. Love that album.

I honestly feel this break and Brian's solo album is the best thing for the band and they will come back together reenergized. Time and some distance from GLA will help them in the long run. And I agree with you all about get hurt and handwritten. I think they have some of their best stuff. I think the problem has been more people expecting the 59 sound part 2 for each of the last 3 albums

I think you're exactly right, hamma. People want '59 Sound II or American Slang II. Handwritten (even at it's weakest moments) is far superior to any other modern rock of the time. Same goes for Get Hurt. Sure it had some weak spots, but it's still a great album. "Dark Places" could easily have been from '59 Sound. It's right up there with "Backseats" for me.
