Just was wondering depending on which show you plan on attending, which artist would you like to do your poster? I would like Munk One to do Jacksonville and Klausen to do Lexington.

I hope the Lexington poster is done by Klausen. And, hopefully he does one of the Wrigley posters, too.

I really like all of the artists that they have been using to some degree or another. A lot depends on the individual poster too. I think it would be cool to see some new artist sprinkled in &/or some artist they haven't used for awhile. Another Derek Hess would be absolutely fantastic (especially for Wrigley ) ! Another Guy Burwell would be very cool too!
Now, with absolutely no disrespect to anyone, I really hope that there is only 1 poster for each of the Wrigley shows & not 4 again. I think 1 for each night & then maybe a "mural/billboard" commemorating both nights would be fantastic. Just don't make only 200 of the murals knowing they could probably sell 15k-20k easy.

I hope gig poster artists get the jobs for the posters.
Gig poster artists incorporate typography into the designs. Gig poster artists digest the music and let it inspire their designs. Klausen is the king with this. Ames Bros, Emek, Munk One, Todd Slater, Ken Taylor, Rhys Cooper are experts too
Just to offer a few examples, look at how the words Pearl Jam are incorporated into: Honolulu 2006 Gorge 2006 Bogata 2015 New Orleans 2010
DC 2006 has the type at the bottom similar to the Washington Post newspaper. There is clearly thought and effort put into the entire design.
Non gig poster artists simply drop in the band name, city, and date, often in a basic font, without thought or effort to incorporate it into the image. We don't have to name names, and I don't mean any offense to any of the artists, but it's obvious when a non gig poster artist makes a gig poster. The result is typically one of their art prints with the words in very plain type dropped into the poster afterwards. And again, no offense to these artists, as they make incredible art and are very successful, but it's just not the same.
For example, a star NFL quarterback is excellent at what he does, but we don't ask him to pitch a MLB game simply becomes they are successful and popular in the sports world. Just because they are athletic, it doesn't mean they can be great in both arenas. Yes, there are rare athletes who can play multiple sports, but that's not the norm and you get the point.
This is simply my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own, I've just noticed over the years there are posters from artists I have consistently liked and bought and other artists I've never bought from. (It saves me money, so it's not a complaint.). It took a while but I realized I like posters by gig posters artists much more consistently than non gig poster artists. My opinion means nothing though and that's ok.
I'm most happy the band is still together and playing shows every year. The music is the most important thing. We can all agree on that.

My initial response would be Munk One but I am still in disbelief from what he put out at the last show I attended (Detroit 14). I will be attending all 4 Florida shows so I'm sure there will be something cool in there. I think Brandon Heart has done some cool shit in the past as well as Mark 5. I'm a little burnt out on Ames and Klausen but that's just me.

I've felt the same way about the last few posters by Munk One... I didn't like the one he did for Milan either!! After doing 2 AMAZING posters for the 2013 tour...Pittsburgh & Charlotte, I thought the ones he did in 2014 were a let down. Hopefully he was just having an off-year and will blow us away with a few winners this year!!

I generally love the posters by Munk One, Ames, and Klausen - especially Munk One as he seems to incorporate some aspect of the city the show is in (Boston '10 with the Bear/Teaparty, Pitt '13 with the steelworker, Wrigley '13 with the Al Capone Hot Dog Guy). That being said, I don't need anymore Pendleton owls hanging on my walls and I think all of Brokenfingaz stuff is....creepy.

Usually when the merch stand opens... though they have been sending out official tweets with a picture of the poster and the artist, not sure about the timing of the tweet, but I'm thinking it is sent around the time the merch stand opens as well!!
