I was at philly 3 and 4 in 09. Why everyone thinks that the Halloween show is better than night 3 is beyond me. I've been to 30 shows and 10/30/09 is probably the best. I think that set list was incredible. Maybe because I was always hoping they would play hold on one day...
Mexico 2015 show had a phenomenal crowd, great set and the band sounds incredible. Really enjoying this bootleg. Haven't run into the bad sound people mentioned yet. Hoping it was a misprint.
Should note: not a best ever show, but definitely up there for consideration in a great performance list, the chants by the crowd took the energy to another level.

3/29/94. RVM to open and it doesn't let up. The porch is almost as good as Atlanta 94. Love TYAAM to end it.

night 3 blew night 4 away!
Hold up, you guys are joking right?
Philly night 3 in 2009 was probably the best of the 46 shows I've seen. I don't know that night 4 cracks my top 10. Night 1 was the second best show of that four night run.

Cool, interesting stuff there... I agree that night 1 was the second best show of the four (actually won lottery that night front row center) but 4 was nuts. Out of my mind, Pilate, I'm open, whip it(in full regalia) last exit second song, Satans bed 2nd encore. I don't know man, it's all subjective, that's what I was looking for. Thanks

If I could go back for one show....it'd probably be Atlanta 94. I guess I don't know how you judge this without being at every "big" show. All you can do is take into account how much they are talked about.......and that comes down to Atlanta 94 and Chicago 95. Doesn't make them the best. I personally thought the 98 tour was their most energized tour and I think that's when they really found their groove as a great live band. Wish they were releasing official bootlegs for that tour.....I need a better Alpine Valley night 1 than the shit recording I have.
Like a word misplaced...nothing said...what a waste

I would agree with everything you said. Someone does make the point though, that the catalog of songs was a fraction of what it is now, or the last decade even.
I know it's certainly the spoiled fan in me, but looking back on setlists from the late 90's, and only seeing 24-27 songs, it's almost immediately a letdown, haha. Don't get me wrong, a lot of those shows are amazing and the band sounds incredible (the Yield tour was the best). But's it's hard to not choose one of these 30+ song gigs they are doing now.

I hear ya. The length of that show is amazing, and the culmination of an amazing 4 night run. But just looking at setlists, personally, night 3 would take the cake for me. A lot of my favorite songs all in one night (Tree, GTF, Tremor Christ, Hold On, In Hiding, Off He Goes, Present Tense, Light Years, Footsteps......)
I do love the 2nd encore from 10/31 though. Good stuff!
I can't say for sure on this -- too many to choose from. I know my favorite show that I've ever been to (my first, too) was Mansfield (Boston) III in 2003, a favorite of many on here as well. 45 min opener, and acoustic.....for themselves? GTFO
2003 Mansfield III 2004 Boston I 2006 Boston I 2008 Bonnaroo, Hartford, Mansfield I 2010 Hartford 2013 Worcester I, Worcester II, Hartford 2016 Bonnaroo, Boston I, Boston II 2018 Boston I, Boston II 2021 Sea.Hear.Now 2022 Camden 2024 Boston I, Boston II

But the majority of those nineties shows were "all killer; no filler."
One of the most unique setlists I've been to thus it is in my top 5 is Phily 2005
2000- Jones Beach 3
