I went to both. West Palm had a few gems on the setlist, but I thought Tampa was a much better show overall.

Both nights they took the stage just before 9pm and were done around 11pm. I think the Tampa show was a little longer, but I think that is because Ed got caught up in the crowd singing the "do do do's" during Black and let it drag out.

Funny thing...at the end of YL, Mike looked over at end and Ed gave him a nod...then Mike ripped into the Star Spangled Banner. I am now curious whether they had a time restraint and Mike wanted to see if he could fit it in...

I went to both...it felt to me like the first set was longer at Tampa, but that could just be my perception. Ten club was right on, KOL on at 7:30, PJ on at 8:45.

I thought Tampa was way better than WPB, but my seats were better and I liked the setlist more (really loved hearing Present Tense and Down at Tampa...2 of my favorites)

I was at both and Tampa blew WPB away. I haven't been to that many shows but Tampa was by far the best show I have been to and WPB the worst. The setlist at WPB was good but the crowd (at least the ppl around me) didn't seem into it. Add that with the fact that I couldn't see anything just made the show ok for me. The band wasnt bad but they seemed to be rushing. They flew through the first set. The Tampa show reminded me why I love this band so much :)

Kuddos to the 1st and 2nd row last night. You guys were rocking out the whole night.

I was at both Shows. Yes I loved Tampa. But I have to say WPB was better for me because of the songs they busted out. Oceans,Faithfull,Low Light,Who You Are. Come on WPB had a AWESOME set list! Plus it was opening night.

I have heard that many of these venues have curfews now which kinda puts a damper on the fun in my opinion.

They've had curfews for a long time. In the 2003 MSG boot, Ed talks about getting fined $14000 for running the show so late. They should add $1 to each ticket and play 20 minutes past 11 at every show.

I was at both and thought the setlist at WPB was better, though Tampa was definitely more accessible to casual fans. My seats were much better in West Palm. Agree that the crowd was louder and more into it in Tampa, but that had to do with the setlist being a little more greatest hits and a little less rarities, and also the 25 degree temperature difference between the outdoor WPB show and the air conditioned Tampa show.

The setlist for WPB was really good though the energy of the crowd was very disappointing, the band was fired up and Ed prompted the crowd to participate and the crowd didn't really respond... at least not the way the band probably expected, proof is with Ed not letting the crowd sing Betterman... I enjoyed the show though Who You Are was such a surprise and I had a great time jumping around like a maniac eventhough it was hot as balls!

now Tampa... this was a TOTALLY different story.... band sounded great but the crowd was PHENOMENAL!!!! participation to the max and Ed and the whole band felt the energy I think they fed off that energy and that's why Tampa's show was 100 times better than WPB....

I'm glad I attended both shows though and I can't wait til Camden next week!!! :D

I felt the same way.... if I compare the setlists WPB had a killer setlist comparing to the Tampa but Tampa I enjoyed more just because the crowd was SO FUCKING CRAZY!!! and the band seemed to enjoy it so much! :D

... and I still have 0 voice from last night :D

went to both shows. liked WPB's setlist a little more with oceans, sad, who you are. the band and the crowd was way better in tampa though, ed wasnt shy at all, and there were a few gems like down, and opening with sometimes. i was really thinking it was my time to hear SMILE sometime in florida, but it never happened.

but did anyone else think that the sound in st. pete times forum sucks ass? this was my second concert in the ice palace and everytime i think something is wrong with the sound system....

Where were you sitting? The sounds is pretty bad there, if you are halfway back or more, but I didn't notice anything funky in the 10th row.
