So is Jeb the next POTUS?
Honest question because you americans love the bushes
  • rgambsrgambs Posts: 13,576

Yet there are still Americans who would want him as POTUS before the Donald.

I'd rather have a POTUS who wore a head garment in a foreign land out of respect, than a POTUS who fashions his hair into a head garment, is not welcome in foreign lands, and has ZERO respect for anything.

Caring about that picture in the slightest makes a person a xenophobia, caring about it in any real measure makes one a racist as well.

I thought he was talking about Jeb. There are still Americans that want Jeb to be preside t before Trump. I figure those AR the few Republicans who still see reason. IMO, despite Jeb's inability to understand what good PR is, and despite the fact that his attempts to appeal to certain demographics are awful (this Tweet is a perfect example!), and despite the fact that he is the most boring fucking person in America, he is actually the most level-headed, reasonable, and sane Republican candidate left now that Christie dropped out. And that isn't a compliment to Jeb. It is a very scary statement about the quality of all the Republican candidates still in the race.

    Not in those words no.
But they would rather settle for that than the others.

Not really fair to say that though. It's like saying people wanted a hole in the head after they were forced to either shoot themselves or cut off their own head with a dull knife.

  • But these are options americans have this election, so to speak.
    Tough for them for sure.
It is infuriating that these debates are so staged by the media that it literally tells the americans which way to swing.

I would much rather have Bush than Trump. I hated GW, still do, but Jeb is not a maniac jackass like Trump. He would be loathe to make his brother's mistake as well, IMO.

    Agreed.
Jeb is just.... the most normal one. I'd say that the only non-crazy one has to be the choice, if one must choose, lol.

Ha, that's so funny, I saw the quote and thought it was one of mine because I feel the same way. He seems like the grown-up of the bunch. He also doesn't have the creepy racist thing that some of the others have (perhaps because he's married to a Hispanic woman).

Imagine spending 100 million dollars in a serious bid to become President, and having to drop out because a majority of Republicans prefer a loud mouthed, cartoonish reality TV star.

Yeah, lol. Must be a bit of a kick in the balls, especially considering who his dad and brother are.

Not sure if a majority of Republicans prefer it but a majority of Americans sure do.

That has yet to be seen. This is the Republican primary, not the general election.

I guess Jeb forgot that he was heading into a primary when he tweeted his gun.
Should've saved it for the general election to get all the gun voters.

I don't know what's worse. The tweet or the fact that he brought his brother out for the final week of the campaign. Both disgusting. I really was unaware of how bad of a candidate Jeb was going to be. Maybe it's because he hadn't run a campaign in awhile? I don't know. One things for sure, i've have never seen two people so alike in political convictions and overall mannerisms in which he carried himself than Jeb and his brother W. America is definitely better off without another bumbling murderous Bush in office.

When Chris Christie bombed out in New Hampshire he went home to New Jersey, slept on it, and then suspended his campaign the next afternoon.

On the other hand, Jeb Bush suspended his campaign less than 90 minutes after the polls closed in South Carolina. That is the move of a beaten candidate. He was ready to quit for awhile.

I thought he would rise above the others. But it never seemed like his heart was in it, do you think? He never seemed engaged. Did he want it?

  • this tweet was hilarious.

in hindsight, good tweet or bad tweet?

it didn't help him any. probably hurt him some with all of the ridicule.

    my assessment, bad tweet.

In hindsight I would say...meaningless tweet. And I started the thread!

I just don't think there was any saving his campaign going into South Carolina. The speed with which he dropped out of the race that night was shocking.

who was that poster who said that it was a lock that bush was going to be the nominee and the next president? They said that it was a lock because of the illuminati or something?

i remember that nobody believed them. i love when we are vindicated, haha.
