Will the globe lights and metal bird be back for 2016?

Not that the staging matters too much because we're all there for the music but I can't help but wonder… What do you think? Will they have a new lighting/stage setup or will we see the guys playing dodgeball with those swinging balls again this time out? Personally, I found it to be a little gimmicky. It was all in good fun but most of us have seen it more than a couple of times.. Thoughts? Go!!

I used to love the rugs on the floor and the candles up the back circa mid 90s.?? For what it's worth the globes and bird are good imho. Leave them.

I miss the simplicity of the rugs and candles, but honestly, they can put ice sculptures and watersides on the stage as long as they keep rocking.

I vote for the rugs and candles again!

Once back then, I think it was the 96 tour, I saw a roadie with a bunch of incense burning before they came out...looked like he was blessing the stage or something?

I hate that stupid bird. I was back stage at Wrigley the first time and saw they bought it from some crappy sludge nu-metal band. I forget who, but the tape was still on the crates.

Art is subjective. Somebody created that and was proud of it.
It does obstruct the view for people in the upper sides and behind the stage though, so I guess it has that as a drawback.

I've always liked the sparse stage setups from the 1990s and earlier in the 2000s. When I first saw photos of the swinging "globe" lights and the more elaborate (by PJ's standards) setup of the last few years, I thought it was gimmicky. That said, I've never seen the latest stage design live. And I don't even know what the metal bird is.

Nothing fancy for me. A rug and a nice collection of Starting Lineups is fine.

do miss those candles and the Frog wings on Eddies amp, tho.

Yes, terrible, at least during the encore they would go with a plain colored back drop..

Those were my favorite of anything. From 93-2005 the large simple back drops that would change colors throughout the shows.

During 2006 they made this half / height soccer goal looking colored back drop looking thing.

Now it is kind of irrelevant as they sell the behind the stage seats and don't play amphitheaters anymore. For shows like Wrigley and Fenway I would love an old school 90's backdrop like that!!!

The globe lights are plaaaaaayed out. I saw McCready smash one of the globes in Oslo...destroyed one with his guitar. Next day I was fortunate enough to bump into him on the streets. I asked him what happened and he said "Those things are really starting to piss me off." That was a few years ago already! Time for a change.
