I just checked my i-pod and foumd out that I don not have a single show from their 1998 tour! So I would like to have so advice about which one or two shows are the best/most memorable etc from that era. and it would be great if it was a show which I could get from the share thread.

Thanx and may the force be with you!
Run away my son. See it all. Oh see the world.

  • I only have about 4 shows from this tour, but MSG2 is the best show by far

I personally think they sounded the BEST on the 98 tour

The Yeild tour was awesome... I went to six shows in the summer of 1998 and my personal favorite and one of the best shows I have ever been to is the ST. LOUIS show on 7-2-98. Great set list, the band was in full effect, and great memories.
Do you know what it's like to fall in the mud and get kicked... in the head... with an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does. It never happens. Sorry, Ted, that's a dumb question... skip that.

Ok you must certainly be a fellow Dane, since you have a Kashmir quote at the bottom of your messages, and since your username "Roeghmann" is used in the black building song on No balance palace.

Anyone know if the Vancouver show from 98 is floating around somewhere. That was an amazing night.

Eddie actually came into the crowd for 'Alive' and my friends and I were actually holding him and singing the chorus into his mic.

Great memories that I would love to hear again.

the melbourne 3/5/98 is the best sound-quality wise (pre-fm) but frankly I'm not a big Jack Irons fan...

St. Louis 7/2/98 is great aslo but I'd give the nod to the 9/16/98 Mansfield ALD for best sound / setlist and performance...

All of these shows below are blessed with the presence of Matt Cameron beating the living shit out of anything in sight!

My first shows!! Dallas (The Rodman incident) & then on to Albuquerque. THAT show still is the craziest I've seen. Fought like hell the whole time in some fire-trap of a rodeo venue. It was the first event there since it had been condemned as a fire hazard. I still have a scar on my knee from the trash can that broke my fall from the bleachers when we rushed. Ah, the good old days!! I would love a boot of either of these if anyone's listening.

  • Barrie Aug '98. Great setlist. Included the "man" triology. Eddie was talkative... Remember the Canadian of the year??? Awesome show. The only drag with the boot floating around is the guys talking from time to time in the background.

  • You should not forget the Denver show from 6/23/98. An awesome version of BLACK with a "BREATH" tag and an awesome version of DAUGHTER with the "MONKEY GONE TO HEAVEN" tag. And to top it off...ED solo doing "PATRIOT" to close the show.

agreed the 3.5.98 melbourne show is top of the list! best boot!

do you have the 7.2.98 show? i used to have it...but its a shitty quality. and the ratings you gave all the above shows are rather high....you do know that A+ generally means soundboard quality right...like the 3.5.98 show. well if you still think these 98 shows are awesome sound quality....gimme a PM...i got shit...and you got shit i want :)

i saw 14 shows on the 98 tour! fuckin best tour! and yes st louis stands out to me cos i was 2nd row center....so it was rather intense! :)

i think ALL the MSG shows are HIGHLY over-rated. Most people seem to like them so much cos its like their hometown show or one of the only ones they have seen. but listening to the complete sets of shows from at least 00 and 03...i would have to say that msg shows/nyc shows do not even make my top top. so i still think you are all on crack or just really biased! just IMO

Funny, cause I wasn't at that show and it's not my hometown either. (and i'm not on crack :P)

  • Melbourne 1998-03-05 (the melb show that opens with release) is hands down the best PJ recording i've heard from any period. Really pissed that i wasn't there!

Yeah they simulcast that on the radio that night...I still have it on Cassette Tape:) People say they get better and better there is some truth to that although Pearl Jam have always been 'better' in my book haha but 1998 was a good tour i saw them here in Perth that year and I have to admit the setlist, the music of that night hard to beat...

Yeah I was listening to some of my boots of previous Australian Tours.

I have a 1995, 1998, two 2003s, and was just comparing them to the 2006 series.

In my opinion the band are at the best they have been this tour.

2003 sounded a little rough. 98 and 95 were pretty good with 98 having a slight edge.
