Will MSG tickets get cheaper as time goes on?

So these prices set by scalpers are just insane so I'm wondering as time goes on and the excitement has died down some, will these ticket prices are come down some? Or do I suck it up now and spend 600 on 2 seats in section 212 and be lucky I got tickets.......... Thanks! First time seeing a show at MSG!

Going with my wife BUT I don't trust buying tickets from scalpers outside arenas due to I've been sold fakes before. I have tix for night one at least through drawing.

You stay refreshing stubhub and tickets will get slightly cheaper day of show. Screw the scalpers outside, mostly fakes. Stay away from those bums. There's a Staples a block away from MSG and you can print them there from your email. If you see a reasonable deal, take it. Don't wait too long. They go down slightly but as the event draws closer , tickets climb back up because people get desperate.

Also keep in mind, there are normal people who sell on stubhub. They aren't the majority but it does happen. These people are usually listing tickets lower because they want to get their money back. I'd keep stubhub open on my phone and constantly refresh. When something goes up for a reasonable price it's usually snatched up right away. Constantly check behind stage. Best view for the price on the secondary market. Section 111,112,113. Good luck!

I've done that for Ranger games and gotten lucky a few times when sellers drop their prices last minute. But it is very risky for a concert, especially if you've travelled. At least with sports you can go watch the game in a bar if you don't find anything.

Very true. Idonly do it if it was an upgrade in seat location for a gig. That's why I'd buy one as soon as something reasonable pops up no matter how long until the gig.

I think if you check often, you will find something in the last month or 6 weeks leading up to the show. Because that's about the time that some of the sellers will start to sweat a bit and will drop prices. But those will get gobbled up fast.

If it were me, I would get a price in my head and that's what I would pay. Check daily to see if one is acceptable then buy it...and don't go back to look anymore!
If its MSG, I am assuming prices may dip, but there won't be any real bargains. Maybe luck will be there and you can get one from a person on here...it's happened before :-)
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!
  • It's Pearl Jam at MSG! I'm not sure what their plans of action were but many many people were stuck outside for the 2010 shows without tickets. Based on what I saw that year I was not rolling any dice and dropped the $300 myself for a ticket each night. Any price drop might not be for the ideal seats and have you up in the rafters.

The prices are actually set by market demand, not the scalpers.
