Explaining my PJ touring to my grandmother

So last night I'm talking to my grandmother and I'm sharing with her that I'm going to see pearl jam for 4-5 shows this spring and summer. Grandma says to me "why would you spend so much time and money to go see the same band in so many far away places?"........I think for a second and respond " what would you do if Jesus went on tour around the eastern part of North America?" ....... She laughs and says " I get it... I would spend a lot of time and money to see him as much as I could!".........

Some people have religion.....we have Pearl Jam!

    Ha...nice story.

    I always explain it to people that I am taking a trip to Europe and for 5 nights out of two weeks my evening plans include a concert instead of going to a late dinner and a bar/pub. That makes the concerts seem like such a small part of the overall trip.

    I remember when Pearl Jam finally came to my city after waiting for more than 10 years to see them live. I told my grandma (may she RIP) Id see both shows in Buenos Aires and then take a bus and see them in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She said to me: "thats not something that makes me proud to tell my friends about"...heh

    There was a point in the early 2000's where, if I mentioned I was going to a concert, my grandma's automatic response was "Who are you going to see, Pearl Jam?" And most times, she was right. May she rest in peace.
