Bad news: there was no curfew. The promoter said the set was shortened because the band wanted to fly to Venice that night and - because of Polish aviation law - they had to fly out before midnight. Very lame - if you ask me.

Well, next time they have to make sure they don't plan a gig the next day but the day after that day so there's time enough to travel.

well, that's the point - they DID have enough time! chorzow concert was on wednesday, the venice festival on friday - they had plenty of time to fly to italy on thursday... :( they didn't have to fly out on wednesday night.
which sucks big way :( I prefered blaming the organisers and not feeling let down that my favourite band didn't care enough for 45 thousand fans, who came from all over the world and most of whom waited for many years to hear them, to actually finish the whole set and leave for their favourite country in the morning :(
    sad...
    1996: warsaw; 1998: kansas city; 2000: katowice x 2
2006: bologna, verona, torino, prague, vienna
    2007: chorzow

What? There was a day in between? Sorry, I didn't notice that... It's strange then they skipped some songs on the setlist while the had a whole day for travelling...

This was my first PJ show too, I also been waiting for this for ages, and I enjoyed every second of it it. If you don't like PJ just because of this, then screw you, and get the hell out of here.

Peace for all the other fans.

screw me? because i voice my opinion? i love the democracy in here. i bought all of their albums, i bought the tickets for the show, i enjoyed the show. but dont tell me they treated us fair. i just wanted to get what everybody else got going to pj show - a full show, not them leaving sooner (way sooner) to catch a plane. i am a paying customer and i ought to get service i payed for. thats how the world runs, if you dont like it get the hell out of here

I'm curious to find out how you liked the actual show. I can understand the frustration over the length of the show, but for what they did perform did you like it?

I think its cool you have the passion for PJ to want them to play more. I would tend to believe that most everyone has that. But small sets are part of festivals. That's what you should expect, even if they are headliners.

But I don't believe you when you say "I used to be a fan". Just realize, Europe didn't get PJ for 6 years. They toured in 06 and they're touring in 07. Small set or not, you got PJ.

And if they played again next year, I would bet you'd be there.

heh, you've never been a fan if a 30min shorter set makes you feel like that. we all hoped for a proper show but, whatever they were, i believe they had their reasons to cut it - curfew, planes, Eddie's throat - i don't care anymore.

btw, some katowice vids i found on youtube:

i admit that the "i used to be a fan" expression was bit exagerated. i still love the band. just one detail - the katowice show was not a festival, if it was i wouldnt say a word
