Alan Rickman has passed away - RIP

Damn, another legend lost to cancer, and around the same age as Bowie and Lemmy as well. This has been a pretty shitty start to the year so far...

OMG! I just read the news. I am so sad. I loved his work. I think David Bowie and Alan Rickman were both 69, weren't they? What a sad week. I'm sad.

I think most people remember him from Die Hard or the Harry Potter movies but he worked in several genres. Loved him in Galaxy Quest. There's also a wonderful, sweet movie that I don't think anybody saw but me: Truly, Madly, Deeply.

    RIP Mr. Rickman.

Alan Rickman was such a fine actor. And that voice! Really bummed to hear about this.

    R.I.P. Mr Rickman.

I was going to post this, WP, and of course you would know Truly, Madly, Deeply - what a great movie. (Although I agree - he is brilliant in Galaxy Quest.)

That sucks. :frowning: I have never seen Harry Potter, so I remember him best from Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Like the movie or not (I like it!), he was sooooooo amazingly good in that movie as the Sheriff of Nottingham!

He was in a movie "Something the Lord Made" about the first heart surgery, and the Blaylock-Teusing [Thomas] shunt.

Kevin Costner. Rickman's role is often highlighted as that movie's only redeemable quality, lol, but it's a really fucking entertaining movie! It is 100% true that Rickman steals the show acting-wise in it.

I've only seen a few of his movies, but much love to his family and friends...

He was fantastic in Dogma and in Robin Hood. He played devilishly bad so well. This week has made me sad.

    RIP

edit - All day I cried and called in sick to work.
My life has stopped with this news.
Such an incredible man, touched the worlds heart everywhere.
Such darkness in the world that an actor like this has perished.
It is hard to type through these tears.
