So far I've seen the first two episodes. I really like the pacing and back and forth between scenes with Axelrod and Giammati.

Yeah, I'm really liking it. Loved that Axelrod was wearing a Metallica t-shirt when he told that family he was shorting them $16M because the grandfather was an asshole back in the day.
I like it. Watched the second episode last night. But I don't adore it. Not yet. The opening scene in the first episode - spoiler alert here - my husband said, "She's gonna turn out to be his wife." I like the two guys, but her character seems forced. I'd be happier if it was just about the two guys going back and forth.

Anyone get the feeling this is a little too soap opera-y? To me it gives off the vibe of an 80's era show like Dynasty or Dallas but with a more modern, edgy twist.
I'm enjoying it from a pure entertainment standpoint but sometimes logic gets in the way.
For example, how is a bigwig in the world of law and justice on his hands and knees in a sex club in front of everyone else?
Fun watch and I so dig Lewis & Giamatti but guessing it probably won't make it past a second season.
Not to mention the fact that he was in bumfuck, Iowa wasn't he? How do you just find this place on the internet and then get allowed in ten minutes later? Also not buying a grown adult woman "second act"-ing a Broadway show cuz she was bored at work. She's loaded, could've bought a ticket and seen the whole thing.
I will keep watching though, because it's still entertaining
^Yep. Everything you guys mentioned. I also hate this little love triangle that's forming in the DA's office. And now the one chick offered to be her bosses gaurantor (on her way up the ladder to becoming president)? Just reeks more soap opera than solid drama to me.
I don't even care so much to remember the character's names other than the leads and their wives.
Yeah, I liked it as well. Even got my guy into it - he's been buying/selling stocks lately but we're not even close to fuck-you money. Plus he digs the Metallica injections.
Well this week's episode was better than the last few. Pretty intense.
couldn't see the lawyer as anything but the killer in True Detective Season 1 though. every time he was on screen that is what i thought about. he plays a better killer than lawyer.
i like this show but agree that there is a lot of soap opera type stuff on it. i mean his office is investigating the company and guy his wife works for? that is just so far fetched. Giamatti is great though.

I am SO in on this one.
Has the pilot aired or is it only on demand at this point?
Yes, so far only on demand. I believe the premier is this Sunday.
Yeh he is. And his wife's an even more interesting character actually.
Lots of potential here!
Really looking forward to getting into this, especially with Homeland done for now.

Does Giamatti's voice sound reminiscent of Saul Berenson's (Homeland) to anyone else?
"What's the difference between ass lube and regular lube?"
"Viscosity."
Loving Giamatti more than anything but could do with less of the wife stuff.
Now...Axe's wife? Bring
herit on!Not liking it as much as I thought I would.

Writing needs help. Hard to believe that Andrew Ross Sorkin lets some of this nonsense fly.
There's no way that Paul Giamatti's character would need Investing 101 shit such as "short squeezes" explained to him.
Definitely going to stick with this one.
(the show, too)
