R.I.P. Lemmy...

Not a huge Motorhead fan here, but their influence over the years has been undeniable, it's been announced he passed away after a (very) brief struggle with an "aggressive cancer." His heavy metal growl will be missed for sure.

I didn't really get into Motorhead until around '91 (I think 1916 was the only LP of theirs that I actually bought) but I'd heard a lot of their stuff growing up. Lemmy was one of those that you just assumed would live forever. 70 is a hell of an age to reach for his lifestyle though.

Motörhead was an awesome band and no one played music like that. Lemmy was the man, an original, and another will not be made again.

We are Motörhead, we play rock and roll. RIP to Lemmy.

I went into my local music store earlier and they were pumping "Bomber" through the speakers. Almost as entertaining as watching the faces on all of the confused hipsters!

Damn. Just read this on my FB feed. Like a punch in the gut. Lemmy was amazing. Hawkwind, Motörhead. A veritable monster who rocked this planet. R.I.P. Mr. Kilmister.

That stinks. He was one in a million. Loved him in the Foo Fighters "White Limo" video though!

From a movie called Airheads. From the early 90s...it's actually pretty funny.
