Dec 22 1956 a baby was born. A western lowland gorilla to be exact. In captivity. A first. She lived and went on to have many herself. Who lived. Making it unneeded to capture wild gorillas for zoos.
She is living out her years as the Grande Dame at the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
