Seeing people you have never seen in life in your dreams

Does this happen to anyone else?
I often have dreams involving people I have never seen before in life.
I often wake thinking, who was that?
The other night I had a dream of an attractive young women, her face I made out so clearly.
Another time I dreamt of all these people walking along a bridge and I could make out their faces perfectly in my dream.
Are they spirits? Guardian angels?

I read something awhile ago about how we're unable to dream of people we've never seen.

Who knows though. The brain may be understood in the physical sense but the mind and all it holds and processes?

Night Shift - Commodores song or the film?

I like thinking about stuff like this; dreams can be just fun shit but I do think there's more to it at times, a way of digesting the day, experiences. Our body looks after our spirit, in a way.

I've thought about this too I have sometimes dreamt about walking around in cities that my mind somehow has created. When dreaming about someone I've never met before I think that among all people there is probably someone that actually looks like this somewhere out there...:)

yeah sometimes. sometimes it's a "girlfriend: or a girl i meet or just random people, pretty weird.

Happens to me ALL the time. My dreams rarely ever contain people I actually know or recognize. But I, too, have heard the same as hedo. Even though we don't recognize them in our dreams, supposedly they are faces we have seen in real life, at some instance. Could be a face that you saw for 3 seconds in a large crowd when you were 9 years old. This theory seems pretty far-fetched to me. I also dream in color, so the whole black & white theory is complete bullshit.
