The ocean is full

This is the scariest political climate I have ever been in. I'm not white and am increasingly convinced this is not my country. Whenever in doubt, I turn to Pearl Jam's music to help me. They really did in 2003 and I hoped it would never come to anything near that again. But here we are, and it is worse. Music, the very home I retreat to for escape, was attacked. The retaliation has been worse. Please help us all make it through

    Vote Trump 2016!

Trump wants to sleep with his own daughter.
Wouldn't it be funny if the world ended in 2010, with lots of fire?

I AM white and am increasingly convinced this is not my country, either. I can't imagine what it's like to be non-white, or female, in this country right now.

And Trump is a fucking buffoon.

This is in the wrong forum, but people being afraid to walk down the street for fear of being attacked is not a laughing matter, whether they are white, black or brown. Trump and Cruz have set our country back a century and this will take generations to repair.

Why don't you guys all get republican party memberships so you can at least make sure he doesn't win at the primaries? :) defect from the party after the vote?

Hopefully things turn out ok for you guys. Here in Canada it feels like a breath of fresh air after the last election. Our last P.M. seemed to have tunnel vision and didn't seem to embrace many of the things we identify as Canadian. Our new P.M. seems a little old school Canadian. The only problem so far is the amount of people asking for money is insane. At some point he's going to learn how to say no :)

That's what's going on here with President Obama everyone wants more free shit. Change won't come from Hillary Clinton. It's more of the same.

Far, far better than the change Trump would bring. He is becoming the biggest embarrassment America has to offer.

Hard to figure out whether he is more embarrassing or his supporters. At least he is the puppet master.

A good point. He's holding up a mirror and the only thing reflecting back is...I dunno...like an infected armpit hair...or maybe an extreme close-up of a snotty nose.

I'm an outside looking in, but the way I see it is that America was formed because the British Monarchy dictated how the colonies were run. In a response to that oppression by the Monarchy and British Aristrocrats the colonies rebelled and formed their own country.

It seems like Corporations have become what the British Monarchy was. They have their tentacles so engrained in the political process that most decisions seemed to be made on how it benefits big business in America. Decisions aren't decided on how it best benefits the American people.

I'm not sure how the founders of America would feel about that.

I'm not even sure what defines a country other than arbitrary political borders that, most of the time, are totally fabricated. We have disassociated ourselves from nature to the point that we recognize these artificial boundaries more than we do ecosystems. We live in a world of our own making and ignore the cycles and balances of nature much to our own demise.

But I digress. It sounds like you are feeling discriminated against because you are non-white and I'm sorry to hear that. We whites are the real minority and would be wise to recognize that. But that doesn't help your situation right now so the best I can do is wish you well. Racism is archaic and counterproductive. It needs to end.

I'm curious as to who you mean by your music being attacked. What happened?

Good point. Corporations are the equivalent of the British Monarchy. Our beltway insider congress critters in Washington D.C. are the American Aristocrats, bought and paid for by the corporations.

I'm sure the founders would be in favor of a revolution. They saw revolution as a valid solution to achieve self-determination. I'm up for it. Our system has failed us. Our experiment with being a democratic republic has failed It is time to look at a new model where people actually have power. It is time for revolution. Voting for any candidate currently running from either party is a vote to continue to go down the rabbit hole. Time to hit the reset button. Time to try a new experiment with real democracy. I doubt it will happen in my lifetime, but I'd love to see it.

He may be referencing the EODM Bataclan attack. It hit me really hard as live music/concerts are a sanctuary for me. The next show I went to after that, I couldn't help but fear that situation happening again.

The biggest threat isnt him winning (unlikely), it's what his rhetoric is inspiring, which is ignorance and hate throughout the country. It's making it socially acceptable to be racist and all these idiots attacking muslims (and non-muslims) and mosques. We have another year of victims ahead. Unfortunately there are so many people in this country who are unhappy with their lives that they have no value for their own lives or the lives of others, and Trump and Cruz are fueling it.
