#3 is my favorite of the 3 vinyl releases. It may edge out #2 as well. But #5 is really good. I think they did a great job with it. I love the packaging for this series too. Hopefully people's vinyl looks and sounds good. Mine is flawless and quiet.

If they drop a 95 or 96 show for this series it will undoubtedly become my number 1. Hopefully its in the cards for #6

Long answer: best vault ever surely does not apply to a show that's been available for years in soundboard quality, it's kind of a lazy release just like Vault 4 (but at least that one was not ever sold before).. it's a good show, and I understand you're saying this with enthusiasm just after listening for the first time to a SBD quality show from the rage years of this great rock band.. but totally no, I would say it's the worst out of the five.. I was very happy with the first three (even with the damned missing songs), but these last two have been a total bummer.. vault shows should be special releases of shows never circulated before in decent SBD quality, or even better never heard at all.. am I the only one thinking this way?

I agree with you to a point. If you weren't a trader in the 90's then you had no clue that vault #5 was a great soundboard boot plus we don't have an official boot from 1993.
I totally agree with you that vault #4 was beyond lazy as we have 72 official bootlegs from 2000.

I'd love to see a vault released that we don't have the best sounding boot for (randall's island, any another 96 show except for berlin, 98 except for melbourne or seattle) but I doubt that it is going to happen. Vault #6 i'm guessing will be something from 04 or 07 but fingers crossed it's 95-96.
I'll ride the wave where it takes me......

Strictly speaking of the tonal quality of PJ'S instruments, I think 92-94 gave us the best sounding live shows.

I really dig the later years for the increased library, banter and set-list diversity.

Really though, I'm happy with just about anything that they release on vinyl.

For me, nothing tops the show at the Vic for a Vault release. Wish they would release it on vinyl.

This is 100% correct. I didn't bother buying Vaults 4 or 5. The best of this series so far has been the Vic Theatre show and the 1998 DC show.

Disagree. Dave had a horrible drum sound live. Really trashy, too tight and the overuse of cymbals just hurts ears. Good drummer, horrible sound. Jack and Matt have a much smoother more natural sound.

That's precisely what I like about them.

Vic theatre is my fave, but I actually like them all. Not sure why people are so down on Vault 4 btw. I really like it. I like that Eddie is so pissy at that show, lol. And I love that Binaural is played in its entirety for the first and last time (out of order).

I'm with ya, Alli. I love Vault 4! Now, that might be because the Binaural tour was the first time I saw them live but I think it's a great release. I guess most of the folks that grumble about it aren't vinyl collectors bc the reason I keep seeing is "we already have 72 shows from that tour." Yes, yes we do. But not on vinyl.

The Vic is really great. I'd love to have it on vinyl, though. My wife and I were at the show and Eddie did a great "opening act" set that was really, really good. I'd love to see that set make it onto an official release.

For sure! I am really really hoping 10C decides to give us Vaults 1 and 2 on vinyl! The set feels so incomplete without them, and I want to hear them on my system instead of on my mp3 player.

I'd prefer the Legacy reissues get moving first.

I don't see why they can't do both at the same time. They already have the recordings and the style and everything worked out for the Vaults. They'd just have to do a presale and send the files over to the manufacturer.
