In the Rubble

After the ship wreck
after the car crash
after the explosive devastation!
in the silence,
as a lone living survivor
I wouldn’t mind some grace
I wouldn’t mind a pardon
I wouldn’t refuse love
if some was given
no,
love and hope just might keep me alive

Nicely done, Justam. I hope you're finding the love and hope you deserve.
“The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man [or woman] who lives fully is prepared to die at any time.”
Variously credited to Mark Twain or Edward Abbey.
