Please cover EoDM for charity release.

Just saw the Eagles of Death Metal interview since the tragedy in Paris and they are calling for bands to cover their song, "I love you all the time" and they are willing to donate their publishing to the victims in Paris.

So I want to pass on the "challenge" Pearl Jam to be one of the first to accept EoDM's challenge and record this song for the heroes of Paris.

Here's the interview

And here's the song:

I also immediately thought Pearl Jam when I saw the interview. Would be a surprise if they didn't. It's a pretty cool song too.

Is this invitation getting traction outside of that VICE video?

Would be cool to see a bunch of different cool artists do something with it – from taylor swift to Pearl Jam.

Would love to see this happen. That interview was heart breaking, all respect to them for speaking out. It goes without saying, but there are some fucked up people on this planet.

This interview was brutal to watch. I admire them even more for their resilience and vow to march on.

Jesse Hughes. Man I just want to give him a hug.

God bless all of them and everyone who was there.

I finally had a moment to myself to watch this interview and I am just floored. I can't imagine being in a room and turning around to see a terrorist with guns strapped to his back. And just knowing what that means.

Suicide bombers. People running and carrying other people out in between reloading of weapons.

I hate that one gentleman is beating himself up for feeling like he left his band mates on stage.

I can't imagine. Being trapped in a room. Waiting.

    As said above God bless.
Oh please let it rain today.

That interview was powerful. Thanks for sharing! Good for EoDM, good for the fans, good for the people of Paris. Something horrific happened, and they're putting on a clinic in bravery, strength, and resilience.

I hope more bands see or hear this request from EODM for this certain song. Good on MMJ.

    Savages have also covered it.
However, I wanted to post this -

So much respect for these guys. Amazing and they demonstrate the strength and determination to face up to those wanting to intimidate, frighten and attack with music, life and love.

EODM joined U2 to play People Got The Power (Patti Smith)

Then U2 left EODM alone to play I Love You All The Time

    Very classy move by U2.

I hope this brings some kind of closure for the group. I couldn't imagine flying back to Paris and then going on stage in front of 20,000 people.

i think it will be closure when they perform back at the bataclan (they said they want to be the first band to play there when it reopens).

Yay!! Just came back here to say THANKS to PJ and everybody who posted here!! I never for one minute doubted that my favorite band would offer their love and unity, and lend their support to EODM, all of the victims of this horrible crime, and the whole worldwide community of musicians and fans who were shaken to their core on this terrible day. I am inspired by PJ's kindness and generosity, and like always, am proud to stand with and support them as they do what they can to shine a little light for us all.

PEARL JAM JOINS EAGLES OF DEATH METAL TO PLAY IT FORWARD
    December 18 2015

In the aftermath of the horrific and senseless terrorist attacks on Paris on November 13, 2015, Eagles Of Death Metal asked its musical family to extend the victims of the Paris attacks the same kindness and compassion that everyone from the members of U2 to the French authorities had shown the band—to Play It Forward: EODM asked artists the world over to cover “I Love You All The Time” from its current album Zipper Down. For every cover sold, the band pledged to donate 100% of its publishing income to The Sweet Stuff Foundation, the non-profit organization founded in 2013 by EODM co-founder Joshua Homme to provide assistance to musicians and their families in times of need, as well as musical education and gear for the next generation. Participating artists were also asked to donate the money generated from sales of the song to the charity.

Pearl Jam and drummer Matt Cameron join Eagles of Death Metal to Play It Forward by releasing two EODM covers to benefit the victims of the November 13th terrorist attack in Paris and the family of fallen EODM crew member Nick Alexander.

    Tracks:
Pearl Jam "Want You So Hard" (Recorded Live at Estadio Maracanã, Rio de Janeiro, BR. Nov 22, 2015)
Matt Cameron "I Love You All The Time"

A digital bundle of both songs goes live at 9am PT on Friday, December 18 at www.pearljam.com.
A pre-order of the vinyl version of these songs goes live at that same time at www.pearljam.com.

All proceeds from the sale of these tracks will benefit the Paris attack victims and Nick Alexander’s family via The Sweet Stuff Foundation.

Matt Cameron explains: “After reading Josh Homme’s email encouraging fellow musicians to cover EODM’s “I Love You All the Time,” I was very inspired to act quickly, so I recorded a version on a night off from tour in Mexico City in my hotel room, 11-27-2015, 8pm-12am. I am honored to be a part of this movement of unity and support. We’ll never stop.”

This week, Eagles Of Death Metal is overwhelmed with gratitude by the generosity and empathy made manifest in the first wave of “I Love You All The Time” covers being released by a collection of artists, all of whom are donating any royalties due them for these performances.

Homme commented on the Play It Forward initiative and this first showing of camaraderie: "I made a plea to artists and business people alike to come together to use our solidarity as proof that we are stronger together, and that we can make a difference. We are proud to be a little part of such a big group of talent and good will. We can’t thank these artists enough for their donations of talent, love, time, and compassion. Now, the Play It Forward Campaign is in the hands of the fans to help us make a difference, and to help those affected by this tragedy. Please listen, purchase, play, and enjoy – and know that every time you do, you’re doing the sweet stuff that makes that difference."
