Anyone ever listen to Grock Radio (106.3/106.5) in NJ? http://www.grockradio.com
their morning show host, Erin Vogt is a HUUUUGE PJ fan.
In fact, I met up with her yesterday and delivered her a cd with The Real Me on it....and guess who played it this morning at 930am!
I know Izzy definately listens...

Before they sold out to a larger company it was an awesome station. It has changed a lot from years ago when it was a pretty small operation running out of a small house near where I work. Me and some of the guys I work with got friendly with one of the overnight DJ's about 7 or 8 years ago and used to get to hang out at the station during her shift.
I was always amazed that they were basically broadcasting an FM radio station from a converted bedroom in a house. The setup was literally a cd player and microphone sitting on an old desk. The station has changed a lot since the sold out to a bigger company and not for the better. But its still better than most of the crap on the air around here.
Thats cool that she is a PJ fan... maybe you can talk to her about changing up the usual Pearl Jam rotation of Even Flow, Better Man, and Daughter to some other songs.
I've been listening to the new station out of NYC... 101.9 a lot lately. I had it on over the weekend while I was doing some stuff around the house and within a 3 hour period they played Wishlist and Thin Air.... I've never heard Thin Air on the radio... EVER!
I was checking out the link you posted... next time you talk to her let her know she needs to fix her bio on the website... every Pearl Jam fan knows the Atlanta radio broadcast was in 1994 not 1992.
From the website:
5 "rock fan" moments that still give me goosebumps...
* Sitting glued to my radio ('92), taping a live broadcast of Pearl Jam in Atlanta... & then hearing Eddie Vedder take over the airwaves, before they cut him off.
* My first VIP pass - at Smashing Pumpkins ('96), standing "this close" to Billy Corgan as he stalked off stage at MSG before the encore.
* Hearing Ben Harper's "Will To Live" album ('97) for the first time... AND running in to catch Harper live the first of MANY times at H.O.R.D.E. ('98)
* U2 ('05) at Continental Airlines Arena, getting into the inner circle
* and having pictures to re-live it!
but as for songs that grock plays...
i've heard:
Alive
Even Flow
State of Love and Trust
Once
Why Go
Breath
Release
Jeremy
Go
Animal
Daughter
Rearviewmirror
Whipping
Indifference
Betterman
Immortality
Corduroy
Tremor Christ
Hail Hail
Smile
In Hiding
Habit!!!
Who You Are
Given To Fly
Do The Evolution
Brain of J
I Am Mine
Save You
Worldwide Suicide
Life Wasted
Gone
Severed Hand
and that's off the top of my head
I'll have to listen a little more and see if they are living up to your list.
I don't listen as much as I did in the late 80s to early 90s when I never moved the dial off of 106.3... its hard to listen to the station now and remember the days when Matt Pinfield was a DJ there.
Butthead: It means that his friends are like turds and that they like suck.
Beavis: Heh heh. Oh yeah. Yeah! Get those spoons out of my face before I shove them up your butt!
Butthead: Huh huh.
