A nearly 20 yr old Ames print sells for $20 at the show in 1998 & is valued at roughly $500 in 2015.
A 2 year old PJ print sells for $35 at the show in 2013 & is worth $400 in 2015.
Why is an older poster worth the same as a newer poster. Solve for 'x'.

    Newer poster + X = older poster, where X = hype

We need visuals to follow through with this complex mathematical equation.

  • I am guessing that "A 2 year old PJ print sells for $35 at the show in 2013 & is worth $400 in 2015." = Munk One Pittsburgh poster. If my assumption is correct then I chalk the existing "real world' math up to the fact that for each rule there is an exception. For me, and I suspect many, many others, that poster is simply exceptional. The exceptional piece of art and it's ascribed value proves the rule for all other pieces of art and their ascribed value.

So by that logic my 2012 Amsterdam poster will be worth 500 in 20 years. Cool. image
