Windows 10 free upgrade

Has anyone here upgraded to Windows 10? My PC keeps reminding me to upgrade for free. PC experts, will I lose all my files if I upgrade? Cheers in advance.

The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.

I have a problem with my Windows Media Player, since upgrading to Windows 10 Windows Media Player no longer recognises audio CD's. I used to insert CD's in and it would automatically play in Windows Media Player, now I cannot even open it at all via WMP. Anyone got the same problem and a fix? Google searches has got me nowhere.
My audio CD plays on other programs, so I know there's nothing wrong with the CD ROM drive.

have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling? It sounds like a driver issue with WMP

I couldn't use my touchpad when I upgraded. Turned out to be a driver issue, needed to install/update drivers for the stupid touchpad. Someone else had another driver issue too. I seem to think that Win10 has issues with updating drivers.

You won't lose all your files when you upgraded.

I've upgraded to Windows 10. Not a fan of the Windows boxes so I use Classic Shell. http://www.classicshell.net/

Easy solution. Mac OS. Done! ; )

  • My start button or search button no longer work.
When I click start I get a 'critical error' pop up saying next time I sign in Windows will try to fix the problem however it never does when I sign in. I've tried restarting and some guides online like booting in safe mode and doing some command in command prompt.
I can't even open Microsoft Edge, calculator app and bring up options by right clicking on the folder on the task bar.
This is pissing me off big time. I wish I stuck with Windows 7, my PC has been playing up ever since I upgraded for free.

Anyone have these same issues? How did you fix?
Should I reformat and reinstall Windows 7?
Should I fk Windows off altogether and get an Apple laptop?
