Do not buy from Kings Road Merch

They do not provide any customer service and do not deliver what they promise.

Thanks - Buck

You've got to give us more than that, please. What's the story?

Well, I ordered two records from them - about a month ago, and waited the requisite 5 days before emailing as to the whereabouts of said records, no response waited another week and sent another email asking again. No reply - meanwhile - shipping status remained - "shipping soon". Finally, get a reply yesterday. Almost a month since ordering. The reply is sorry the USPS lost your package - we will be shipping one of your records as we do not have inventory for the other. Shipping status never updated to shipped - how can you lose a package that never shipped. The only reason I placed was because one of the records was on sale, and guess which one they could n't ship? The one that was on sale. So I called them, and needless to say I was agitated, and the customer service rep said too bad the single record shipped and there was nothing she could do, too bad. I was getting more and more upset explaining the facts and she hung up on me!!!! So I took to the board here and PM'd them on Facebook. They sent me a PM containing smiling dogs and rainbows and told me to have a lovely day? Just not a positive experience in any way shape or form and wanted all of my jammers to avoid a similar fate with Kings Road sh*tty service. bUCK

Oh, and I asked them via Facebook to call my home and alas, no call. Typical.

Wow. Just wow. If I did that to a customer I'd be fired before I even clicked "send."

Poor customer service sucks. I'm sorry for that. You've done what you can do. You've informed people who might be ones to have issues. (We thank you for that.) :frowning:

Pretty much. I've never really had any problems with them.
Also, once you start flinging cuss words at people they have the right to hang up on you/ignore you, no matter how right you are to be pissed at their shitty service.

    Nothing since then. I suck.

And from what Ive seen here Buck isn't the most tactful when dealing with what he considers bad service.

nah, I just do not like to be misled when it comes to spending my money. Same thing happened with those Ames NYC Gold prints - one thing was promised and another was delivered - company can make it right with their customers or lose their business. My feelings aren't hurt, my wallet will stay closed, that's how I exact my revenge. Oh yeah, and I tell all of my friends. :)

True. While I do sympathize and empathize Buck, and agree they are in the wrong (obviously), I also think that once you started swearing you destroyed any chance you had to make things right. So maybe the one take-away would be to never ever ever swear while talking to any customer service reps (unless they do first). Ever.

I just said it was bullsh*t - it was nothing personal - trust me I use to work for the biggest telecom company in the US - so I know what it's like to get treated poorly. In this instance, the customer service rep was way too quick to be offended and I never hung up on any of my customers, no matter what - so this makes me even more upset.

Yeah, but what I said still applies. I think that any swear word should be avoided when speaking to customer service, period. It can only make things worse. You don't know who's on the other end of that line. They might have found your use of the word bullshit - in any context - aggressive and/or rude and/or verbally abusive. Better safe than sorry when you're trying to get results out of someone. :)

    fair enough
  • It's not about right or wrong, it's that most companies that do customer service (including all the ones I worked at) allow their workers to hang up on abusive customers (which involves swearing of any kind). I had a comcast rep tell me good news about my install one year and I said "God Damn that's great news" and she hung up on me. When I called back the next rep warned me to not to curse.

Now when I answered phones for Time-Life and Charles Schwab I took it as a personal challenge when people got mad and swore. I would be extra determined to solve your issue, because it was always so rewarding to 'talk someone off the ledge' so to speak. But after my Comcast experience I have learned that some phone people listen for the slightest excuse to hang up on you!

Anyway - thanks for the heads up on Kings Road =)

Kings Road has always done right by me. Sounds like your bullshit experience is an exception to the norm, buck. You found the bad apple and then spoiled it rotten.

I ordered a record from them, it came damaged so they sent me two replacements, one was what I ordered and the other was a different colour variant. As you can imagine I was happy to get 3 for the price of 1. But I dont like bad customer service either, dont get me started on Barnes & Noble. Its good to let others know when you experience something bad.
