There’s going to be a gigantic Steely Dan light show on the Empire State Building this Thurs 10/29

Yes, you read that right.

This Thursday at 7pm, the Empire State Building is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Master FM Antenna in a truly epic way.

Tune into WCBS-FM 101.1 at 7pm on October 29 for a broadcast of Steely Dan’s “FM” that will by synced to a live light show on the iconic New York skyscraper. The Empire State Realty Trust recommends the following locations to view the event:

Brooklyn Bridge
Bryant Park
The Highline
Hoboken/Jersey City Waterfront
Hudson River Esplanade
Long Island City
Madison Square Park
Tribeca Park
Union Square
Williamsburg Waterfront

We're holding out hope for "Deacon Blues" on the 60th anniversary.

    That's really cool. I'm going to check it out.

    On a related note, I'm getting married next year and our venue has a view of the Empire State Building. I'm so curious to see what color it will be that night (especially considering how much it costs for a photographer!!!!!).

    It couldn't hurt to email the Empire State Building and tell them this, and request a colour or colours. Maybe try and pluck at their heart strings by thinking up a good reason for wanting those colours, lol. Maybe they'll actually do it - you never know!

    I bet they'll want some money from me. But I won't have any left after the rest of our wedding budget and the "spring tour" :lol:
