Eddie the Impressionist

So as I recall, one of the fun parts of these EV shows was Eddie doing impressions! Really good impressions from what I recall. What all can ya'll recall?

At Berk 2 he channelled Sean Penn phoning him after the news of a baby on the way: Ed! I Heard the News! That's great. That's really great ... Who's the father?

At Berk 1 it was Tom Waits to Eddie on creativity (and silence): Silence is like a blank piece of paper. When you want to be creative, you need a nice blank piece of paper in front of you, not one with a bunch of scribbles all over it.

At Santa Cruz, it was just happy people, and Aussies! "No Worries!" And a typical dude answering a cell phone, "Hi. Yeah, meet you on the corner, right, I'll have the $300."

And yeah, during "If you want to sing out - sing out" he really channels Cat Stevens during one chorus, really sounds like him for a bit. Tough to say that about the lennon, dylan, taylor songs -- but he does a bit of Bruce in Growin' Up. Tough to say, you can just hear all these guys in their songs any ways! But Cat really came out during the last chorus!

Been reading there were more throughout the tour! Share! Matt Damon? Barry White?

There were two at LA1, the show I attended.

He did a spot-on impression of Matt Dillon, during which he told a story of having to give Dillon guitar lessons in Singles.

Later, he also did Chris Rock, though really it sounded like any white dude trying to do a black dude's voice. He did talk about fucking white women, though ... which was hilarious. And so un-Ed.
everybody wants the most they can possibly get
for the least they could possibly do
  • he also did a hilarious liam finn in Santa Cruz

Right! Awesome NZ accent! Something like, "These wetsuits are fantastic, Eddie!" in reference to 'em being invented in Santa Cruz, leading to the infamous pissing in one's wetsuit comments. Good stuff!

LMAO "It's MLK day, what am I doin' here with a room full of white rockers? I should be out fuckin' a white girl."

    Funny, funny stuff.

Rush... RUSH! Back-to-back Rush shows (hey, c'mon now, they might change ONE song in the set!) right before Liam :-(

Speaking of impressions -- I like the little nod to Geddy's Dryer Amps (providing a "warm, dry tone"), modified to the Rotisserie amps last tour....

The Washer Amps (yeah, sorry about Jack Black there...)

Eddie did the Corona Case Kick-Bass drum! "Spectacular, Eddie!" (good recall PinA!)

[no, I don't really think it was a nod to Geddy, I just love this kinda humor at shows!]
