I've done that very thing for the past two national elections here in the states, ignored them -- and for that very reason, they were dumb jokes.

Sorry to say that I don't trust Bernie Sanders. As much as I appreciate the issues that he's raising, he's still a career politician and knows exactly what to say to gain support.

He just wants a bigger piece of the pie. If he were to win the election, it wouldn't take too long for him to forget about all those hands he shook and all those promises he made while he's busy monitoring whatever offshore account all that fresh new money is rolling into.

Oh for sure- let there be no doubt about it- all presidents are bought. Gore Vidal said that. He knew all the U.S. presidents personally from Kennedy (maybe even Eisenhower) through Clinton. He said anyone who made to president was bought out ten times. This is not going to change. The best we can hope for is to elect the person bought out by the least disfavorable faction. To vote otherwise is to throw one's vote away- and though I wouldn't encourage doing that, I do support anyone's right to do so.

I understand your skeptical outlook, Dankind, only I don't see any way out of it. I think the best we can do is elect the least harmful person and see this as a part of a bigger movement to create change. Electing any one person for any one position at any one time is not likely to produce widespread or lasting change. I cast my vote for those to be elected to high office and then carry on with whatever can be done to make a difference on a much smaller scale.
