The "I want Release to open Wembley gig" post

June 18th 1994. My dad passes away. I just started to listen Pearl Jam heavily a few months before and haven't stopped since then.
June 18th 2007. PJ is playing at Wembley. A coincidence ?
I'll be there and just hope they will open the concert with Release.

I keep on dreamin' ...

    They opened Dublin last year with "inside job" and it was amazing, everytime i play it now it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand! Have to say though would really love to hear the guys open with "release"

    i saw them open with release 1st sydney show last year, and it was truly amazing, when ed sings "I'll ride the wave, where it takes me" echoed around the whole arena. It has just lingered in my head from then until now,

    And i hope u got the bootleg

    I could not imagine a better opening. Another good 1 would be hard to imagine, then rock out into last exit or something.

    Any way i hope u do get release and enjoy the ride all over Europe, they are the most amazing band, and i cant wait for them to tour Australia again.

    But then again if some kind soul wud pay 4 my air fare and tickets, i wouldnt say no, cough cough, now that is living in a dream,

    I was lucky to hear twice RELEASE for opener; Roma 96 and 10 years later in Verona 2006 (with rain), it's a great opener I don't mind to hear again.

    I'm actually at a point where i don't care what they play! Last year was all about hoping to hear certain songs and certain openers, but this year i'm just happy to be in the arena with PJ on stage!

    BUT, if i was to make a decision, i'm hoping for Of The Girl. It sets such a groove, very sexy!

    Oh no....not Of the Girl. They opened with that in Manchester in 2000 and it was such an anti-climax.....it just sounded dull and flat.

    I hope it's Release...never heard it live so that'd be cool. I have a sneaking suspiscion it will be.

    Inside Job is a cool opener :)

    inside job was an amazing opener in dublin

    saying that, i always like the big rockin openers like go

    but release would be very cool :)

    I still want All Night as an opener and no other show would be a better place to debut it.

    They opened with Inside Job in barcelona too and it really works...

    However, im positive they will play Release. I seem to always get the opener right (Reading, Marseille, Barca)... with that many ten club members... its a classic opener to all their 'main' gigs.

    Well ... I cross fingers and hope you get it right once again ;)
    Anyway, any opener would work for me ... maybe not bugs ! Inside job would be great also.
    I'm just happy to see them live again. Now I'm thinking I should have planned vacation to follow the whole euro tour. Next time probably.

    London will be my 20th Pj concert, I had Release as an opener for 8 times, I think...
    Release is a great song, but I never had Long Road, that would be really great!

    They opened with Release at Wembley in 96,pity i was siting at the back.. Still gave me goosebumps tho.

    so my vote would go for, in order of preference, Release, Long Road or Oceans.
