The Star in My Night Sky

You were so young
The road should have had endless miles not yet traveled
Closed your eyes, gone in an instant
A chasm of loss left behind

Time has soothed
It will never heal
A spirit ripped away too soon

You were a shining light while you were here
Now your light burns bright somewhere else
We miss the warmth

Dreams of hugs and smiles
On this day
The ache of reality
Heart is full of love and loss

Everytime it hurts too much
Look up
The brightest star
In the night sky
Is you smiling down on us.
Love you, miss you.
Anything you lose from being honest
You never really had to begin with.


Sometimes it's not the song that makes you emotional it's the people and things that come to your mind when you hear it.

    Look up
    The brightest star
    In the night sky
    Is you smiling down on us.

    I like this concept and will stare into the night sky soon with this in mind. Beautiful.

    My star I can not thank you enough for bringing my sister safely through.
    I will persevere because I always so do
    But you my star, guide my way
    To the light and to the peace
    You are there, holding my spirit aloft
    You are my strength
    You are my courage
    For you are the star shining bright
    To lead the way.
    Anything you lose from being honest
    You never really had to begin with.
