That nowhere in the marketing has this been billed as their 25th anniversary tour is strange if this is indeed their 25th anniversary tour.

I still think something else, specifically branded as being a 25th anniversary celebration, is coming.

Agree. Just calling it the 2016 North American Tour sounds odd and fishy.

Hmmmm. Maybe they've decided that they don't want to be an "anniversary" type of band anymore. Maybe PJ20 was enough. Also, there was a movie to promote in 2011 which doesn't seem to be the case this year. (Still hoping for a new DVD/Blu Ray release, however).

Keep looking forward. The more they start thinking about the past the more they'll think of PJ as in the past.

Not sure if anyone has mentioned, but after the No Code and Yield front to back plays at Moline and Milwaukee, respectively, I've had a feeling that we may get a Ten front to back.... Seeing as ya know.... PJ25.

Totally agree with this. Also pretty sure there will be a superfan somewhere complaining it is a greatest hits show.

Have always loved when "Alive" is played like mid-set. Imagine the energy in the crowd if they run through Ten.

When they said "something special" in the Twitter talk and then delivered 4 historic stadium show dates, that seemed like the something special.

Totally agree. With all the shows selling so well and nearly half sold out I'm thinking right now would be the perfect time to announce some other shows.
    that would be cool
when will they think of australia

I mentioned it awhile ago in another thread that a second encore playing Ten from start to back would be beyond epic imo. It would be one huge party with Release finishing it off with the lights off of course!

I will absolutely lose my shit (in a good way!) if Master/Slave plays as their "walk up" music then they break into Once to open the show... And roll out the rest of Ten to follow!

I think the "one event" will be a night at either Target Field or US Bank in Minnesota, the Saturday night between Fenway and Wrigley.

Then in 2017 they can have a tour that starts in Pittsburgh, runs through Cleveland, Indy, Kansas City, and up the west coast.

I'm thinking this one event will be something geared towards the election year,
with a benefit concert similar to Missoula in '12!! :murica:

1 show west of the Mississippi on their 25th anniversary tour is a little weak in my opinion... I'm happy because I'm going to see them in multiple places within a 2-5 hour drive so I'm definitely not complaining, but it sucks if you don't live in the eastern time zone or Chicago

While I understand what you are saying, to be honest the tour structure is far far more accessible than what they did for PJ20 where there were only 2 dates in all of the US (and in a not so easy to reach destination....heck despite there only being two shows that year, I believe one of them didn't even sell out). Even for the Europe folks something on the East Coast is far more accessible (as the MSG stats are bearing out).

I concur. However 2017 could be a busy year for soundgarden. Maybe pj only spends time recording in 2017.
