2016 PJ25 Tour Rumors

someone posted in another thread "Widespread Panic will absolutely play Red Rocks on June 24-26 so you can eliminate those 3 nights as possibilities for Pearl Jam"my2hands said:so lets take a look at the Red Rocks schedule... just for kicks... there is 3 larger openings in the schedule currently in June & July... I think if they do it they would do 3-4 shows because of the demand, without playing 3 in a row... at least I would hope they would play more than 2 shows, not that I would complain...because of this, 4 shows in 5 days makes the most sense to me... anyway
6/13, 6/14, 6/15, 6/16... don't see this as a legit option... seems too soon after bonnaroo to make it that far to play 2 shows...
6/19, 6/20, 6/21, 6/22, 6/23, 6/24, 6/25, 6/26, 6/27... NOW we are talking, 9 days open in a row starting 10 days after Bonnaroo ... this is perfect for playing 4 shows in 5 days and who knows, possibly even more... also a little nugget, ben harper & the innocent criminals are playing there on 6/28... this would be about 2 weeks before rise so im not sure how that would fit as part of a tour or not, but this seems like an option
7/4, 7/5, 7/6, 7/7, 7/8, 7/9, 7/10, 7/11... obvious potential here being so close to Rise festival... Rise clearly would take out 7/9 and I would assume 7/10 & 7/11 as well... so that leaves 7/4 - 7/8... apparently Blues Traveler plays every 7/4 but it isn't on the schedule yet... so lets assume that leaves 7/5, 7/6, 7/7, 7/8... they could easily play 2 shows in there, 3 if they broke it up...
so that would leave 6/19, 6/20, 6/21, 6/22, 6/23 open which seems to be perfect to play 4 shows in 5 days... which I think would be the perfect scenario for everyone... this could be part of a 4 week tour between Bonnaroo - Rise... which is only a few days longer then their normal 3+ week tours of the last few years...
very interesting0 -
yes, Panic usually plays the last weekend in June.Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!0

interesting tidbits I just found out...
Cedar Rapids has a 9,000 seat arena renovated in 2013
Sioux Falls has a new 12,000 seat arena built in 2014
Bonnaroo - Cedar Rapids - Sioux Falls - OKC - Denver/Red Rocks - El Paso - Phoenix - San Diego - LA - Las Vegas - etc works fairly well on the map logistically
maybe the writing is on the wall? especially with this "leak"?
April/May - 4+ week tour
June/July - 4+ week tour between Bonnaroo & Rise
August/September - 4+ weeks with 2 large events each on the east coast, mid west, west coast (TBD)... perhaps add the Canadian festival that's been rumored, they tend to include festivals in tour legs

I don't see Red Rocks happening. They already are giving Colorado a lot of attention with Ride... They should keep going West and play bigger cities and end at the Gorge.2013= Wrigley 1, Dallas, OKC

Definitely NOT... just pure speculation on my part and having fun trying to put together the PJ tour puzzle lollolobugg said:so Red Rocks is def then?
But I think it very well could happen... what I found interesting is dome of those smaller cities on that FB list have new arenas or recently renovated, which makes it a little more believable0 -
The uniqueness of each show, mixed in with the fact that the band are not exactly college-aged kids anymore, gives a huge FOMO effect. Mix that in with those legendary shows @ RR back in '95 and you get a powerful attraction. You don't want to miss the show where they finally break out Falling Down again. Or their final shows.my2hands said:
why is everyone so scared? lol

I sure hope those smaller cities are right! I live in Cedar Rapids and all we get here is Country and Five Finger Death Punch or some other mainstream crap rock.my2hands said:

I'm an hour away from CR and right with you. Traveling is fun, but CR or Sioux Falls would be a very nice surprise!lowlighter said:

Between Bonnaroo and Ride they got a one moth gap. I really hope they will come to Europe! Summer is the only time over here and I don't think they will exclude Europe on their 25th anniversary.0

I think the chance of them playing Europe in the summer is the same as them playing Red Rocks in 2016. Zero percent.Alexander Horvath said:Between Bonnaroo and Ride they got a one moth gap. I agree. I think 10k capacity is too small to contain the power of PJ and it's fans. I want to go there one day, and I would do so for PJ, but the Venue is a little too small for PJ fans. It's not like any of us have the capacity to make a trip and feel content only seeing 1 show the band plays there. It would be a total bloodbath for tickets. If they played 4 nights.. everyone would want tickets for all four nights.Sprunkn7 said:I can see why people would want Red Rocks but wouldn't that just be a huge ass bloodbath getting tickets? You think people are bitching about MSG???
Bring on a PJ25 announcement in a huge venue that even if you don't get a seat at least you can be on a lawn and we can all be there.Post edited by Zod on0 -
If a PJ25 event is still in the works I have often thought that Dick's Sporting Goods Park in Denver would be the perfect location for such an event. I'd rather they play red rocks if they do play denver. I'm just throwing this out there cause I know most people here have been assuming that any PJ25 event will be in Seattle. I'm not so sure.Summerfest 7/8/95

I'm pretty sure by this time PJ20 Alpine was leaked and I already had a hotel booked! This secrecy is killing me. I hope it's in WA for a number of reasons, not the least being when in Rome..well, it would be great to scoop up some ediblesThank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!0

i have a ton on my plate as it is for the shows already announced, but I've been planning on 1 western trip if 1 of 3 events is announced... if any of those happen i want to go.... if multiple of those happen i would most likely be choosing just 1

We went to Red Rocks the day after the 2014 show just to check it out, it would be difficult to pass on seeing them there.
