i went to school in the area and was once a genos guy but im back on the pats train after doing both last time to compare. theyre both terrible but at that hour theyre pretty damn good.
Drove from Jersey....well that explains some of it. I'm assuming West Philly and Upper Darby you drove through - not good, but not terrible, definitely not Camden.
I live a 10 minute walk from cheesesteak corner - with the new pop-up beer garden next store you can't not get a cheesesteak afterward (Heart Attack 'Wit from Pat's). Plus, there's the bar Garage right there, too. Never a bad time.
Go to Phil's at 24th and Passyunk or John's down at Snyder & Weccacoe. 10x better. Geno's blows - don't ever serve me a slab a beef, that's not how you make a cheesesteak. Pure laziness if you ask me.
And gunshots there around 3 in the morning? I don't doubt it, but eh, shit happens at weird hours of the night in a city.

im not disagreeing pats n genos are pure trash but its kinda part of the charm. that was my first drunken 3 am cheesesteak. you never forget your first!

Ya mean The Republican, or that joint above that place in the shopping center there? Is that even still there?
I can do only night one. stupid ass wedding I have to go to.
I'm trying to save on hotel costs and there's something I should attend that friday morning. I might be able to move it if I have to. But skipping thurs would make my life a lot easier.

every time I had to pick between 2 nights at one venue the better night is always the one I missed. I try my best to go to both. Just my dumb luck, I swear....it bugs the fuck out of me...Sitting in MSG and hearing Ed say "last night was one of the most special nights for this band"....thanks....thanks a lot!!!
Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Select, copy, paste in email to bride to be, et voila -- invitation rescinded.
Oh how I wish! And it s a wedding I didn't want to go to. Argh. Who has a Friday night wedding?! Lol
Let's be honest here: Is there ever a wedding that you want to go to?
I think proper etiquette is, outside of immediate family, you are required to go to anyone's wedding who made it to yours. Otherwise, send a nice gift, and be done with it.

Hey can you somehow convince my wife of this line of thinking?
A Tower Theater show would make for some good reading on the boards.
Let's save Tower for 2025 and do a few at Wells Fargo in 2016
why do you say that? I think it would be awesome! They're like the only band that hasn't played there yet. Eddie's played there and i;ve seen Soundgarden, Alice in Chains, Radiohead, Tool, and soon MMJ.
Just the size. If you guarantee me a ticket, I'm all for The Tower.
Area isn't even close to being as bad as Camden.
yeah i know just wishful thinking on my part i guess.
my fav cheesesteak place in phily is Tony Luke's off Oregon Ave.

Me too... plenty of room to park and convenient location... and a full menu of hot sandwiches to choose from, not just cheesesteaks
By the way folks... cheesesteaks are for beginners, the real sandwich of philly is roast pork... with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone ... fucking amazing
I thought this thread was BS. No reason to think they were playing Philly anytime soon. But why the hell have they been playing full Philly shows on Sirius? It seems like the last few days whenever I turn it in its Philly. The shows have to be happening unless someone can give an explanation as to why they are playing so much Philly on Siruis.

I wish I could, but if she's the type that enjoys weddings, then you're pretty much going.
I swore that the last nonfamily wedding I went to was the last.
A. It was a Catholic wedding, and I kept missing the cues. Those services have a lot of solemn audience participation. I felt like a doofus.
B. I'll let my wife handle this one regarding the band for the reception: "I feel like someone has pinned me to the wall and is screaming at me."
It was so awful.
Anyway, if your wife is the type who'd rather have a nice night out with her husband -- well, I assume you've already got a sitter booked. Just change the night, and take her to a nice dinner in Manhattan, Broadway show, cocktails.

are we still talking the 27th and 28th? cuz someone texted me saying he heard 28th and 29th which would be soooo much better--that would be a 4 day weekend if you're scoring at home.

I originally heard 27th and 28th but that seemed to have been corrected to 28th and 29th
