    That's typical for CL sales. Buyers and sellers pull this shit more often than not in my experience. Super not cool. The least he could have done is contact you and see if you'd match the higher price.

    Not really. If someone offered $100 more and said I can meet you in an hour I think I would take the bird in the hand and not bother trying to play the two off against each other. Might lose both buyers that way.

    At the end of the day I can't blame a guy for taking the higher offer. It's craigslist after all. Buyers flake out all the time and are never heard from again.
    I think that common courtesy should always be offered and expected, and when someone says they'll do something, they should either do it, or at least do their best to accommodate in some way. I guess such basic expectation are old-fashioned, but I have no plans on lowering my bar and will not make excuses or justifications for flakes either.
