Msg2 10 was in my top 5 of any concert attended. Although someone on here sent a bunch of us, me included, on a wild goose chase before the show for their supposed extra tenclub floor seats. I was running around the streets of Manhattan like an idiot, I think it was a prank but had to take the shot. So many awesome moments at that show. More than one way to skin a cat, Jeff w a basketball, Eddie telling us "this is breath" (thanks), BRY, the whole show was just insane. Crowd was nonstop from the start

I'm still mad about 2010 :bawling:

The best one will be 2016

Why did you go to Newark (which was an excellent show) but not MSG? I can't rmember if you told me the reason.

ALso, I just realized- since Hartford you have seen a ton of shows! Since then I only got one festival set and Colbert, no full sets.
I couldn't get tickets for MSG in 2010! I went to Newark cuz it was the only show I could get tickets for. And I was working in Queens at that time so it was a royal pain in the ass to go all the way to Jersey by train with my stupid cam-walker boot. AND the setlist from the MSG shows had me drooling  so I'm jealoussss
Also, all the New Jersey knuckleheads didn't know that "Jersey Girl" was a Tom Waits song.

I love Ed's admonishment on the boot.
Me too! "This would never happen at a Bruce Springsteen concert!" Haha. That is a great cover of Jersey Girl IMO.

When I made this poll I figured 5/21/10, 9/11/98 and 7/8/03 would be the top three, but I didn't think they would be this far ahead from the rest.

Probably a lot. But I bet the people voting have heard all the bootlegs.

Plus its 35 songs vs 27 (give or take).

I haven't attended any of them so am judging from the bootlegs alone. The problem with shows from 1998 is that they are missing songs from 3 of my top 5 PJ albums, lol. ;)

9/11/98 was my first PJ show (but I'd seen Eddie and Mike perform "Masters of War" 10/16/92 at Bobfest). My son and I went together, and then 15 years later we saw PJ together again at Barclays. He was 14 at this first show, and the people sitting in front of us thought it was so cool he knew the words to all the songs. The show was amazing, there was great energy and I really felt like the crowd and band were feeding off each other. Awesome set list, Eddie's introduction to Breath was priceless, swinging from the mic cord, and they even let Stone sing! Such great memories, there's nothing like your first PJ show, and then to see one like this was really special.

4/30? I thought the rumor was 5/1 and 5/2? I'd get even more excited but I don't think they play 3 nights in a row anymore.

5/20/10 had a more unique song listing and the vibe was great. 5/21/10 was ok, but not as good as the opening night. Just because the poster was better doesn't mean shit.

I can't speak for anyone else, but I have always thought 5/21 was better than 5/20 (from the days right after those shows until now) and I never once considered the poster in forming that opinion. Posters mean nothing to me when reviewing a show.

    What was unique about 5/21:
    - slow lukin (first time ever)
    - I'm Open (played 10 times ever)
    - Push Me, Pull Me (played 14 times ever)
    - Black, Red, Yellow (played 7 times ever)
    - Sweet Lew (played 2 times ever)
    - breath as the sixth song of the entire show
    - best speech I ever heard from EV right before Wasted Reprise/Betterman
    - hunger strike featuring a guest other than cornell

Doesn't get much more unique than that

Slipped in the encore? Whatttt? It was awesome. EV was high energy the songs were great and he wore a fans Boston Red Sox hat on stage. The crowd was great all the way through. I guess I like it better because I thought 5/20 had a better song selection.

Too many repeats between the first and second night. I quite liked MSG 1 2008. The next night however I was expecting an "all-timer" and was relatively disappointed. Probably in my bottom shows I've seen.

Thought first night in 2008 was excellent, 2nd night was pretty good as well. But 9/11/98 and 5/21/10 are among their all time best shows. And then a lot of people like the 7/8/03 show since it was put out on DVD. I think it kind of hurts the rest in voting.

9/11/98 and it's really not close. The 2003 and 2010 shows are fun though. Man we need more official releases form the 98 tour. Ed's voice was on point then.
"What can you expect when you're on top? You know? It's like Napoleon. When he was the king, you know, people were just constantly trying to conquer him, you know, in the Roman Empire. So, it's history repeating itself all over again."

something like fonsy, sharice and someone else.. i cant remeber .. ed got the crowd all excited for special guests, and while they were probably very nice people, no one knew who they were and i think they sang the same songs each night right? all night?
