I have recently been checking out his albums.
I like Pink Moon and 5 Leaves Left.
Any fans?

Definitely! What a voice! And a great song writer. Gone too soon, for sure.

Yes! I love his velvety voice and many of the songs are really really good, even though the arrangements sometimes are poor.
Northern Sky for example, what a song!
Well actually not poor, more like inappropriate, if you listen to the greatest hits Way To Blue, you'll know what I mean

I keep Nick Drake right in there with this little collective of quiet, introspective, amazing avante/folk musicians: Nick Drake, Elliott Smith, Tim Buckley, Sandy Bull, Leonard Cohen, Kendra Smith, Fred Neil, Phil Oches (and some others I can't think of right now). Great stuff.

Just discovered Nick Drake literally in the last week, and am totally blown away. What a beautiful musician. Haunting voice, amazing vocal melodies, and his guitar playing was fantastic. Very sad story to his life too. You'd wonder what he'd think if he knew how revered he is in 2020 in the music world!

I have Pink Moon on CD. Love it. Might be something to consider for one of my next vinyl purchases.
  • Yes one of my favorite artists. Listen to Five Leaves Left. The stretch of Way to Blue, Day Is Done, Cello Song, The Thoughts of Mary Jane are some of his best work
