No Boom

RiotAct10RiotAct10 Ohio Posts: 1,613
Just wondered, prior to Colbert when was the last time PJ performed in any capacity without Boom? And while I don't think he usually plays on MYM he most definitely does on RITFW. So I wonder if he will be with them on Saturday?
words seem so out of place.

RITFW was not planned so I would not read into this too much. Wait till Saturday.

Speculating reasons for no Boom here:
Not a 'real' member / only a touring session member
    Not enough room onstage
Didn't want to scare Jon Batiste with true piano talent

apparently some street musician that Colbert took pity on.

I'm glad Colbert went with someone not so famous. I like their groove, but just don't think Colbert should be banking on him being able to perform in skits.

Kind of like the street musician Vedder took pity on and got to join his band? OK, he didn't take pity on him, but he was just a regular guy and Vedder got him to join the band. So I thought that Batiste comment was kind of funny.

Yeah they should just have him play music. Every time he has said something he seems very awkward. No match for Colbert's improv skills.

I do think Eddie should have grabbed the Keytar just off the stage and started banging on it during the solo.

The band was invited to the show. Their back up keyboardist wasn't. That makes sense to me.
I like Boom. He's just not a member of the band. He clearly doesn't want to be, either.

I highly doubt GC said you can headline the show but no Hawaiians.

Maybe he will be there tomorrow. But if he's not it's probably cause what I said. A one off show half way around ten world isn't a big deal for him to miss.

I'm sorry, I guess I completely misunderstood? I thought we were talking about their appearance on the Colbert Show. That's what it seems like in the OP. I'm sure Boom will be there for the GC show - no reason to think otherwise.

would mr. colbert please stop singing with bands and shut the f up. it's like what fallon used to do. that was not good ruining ritfw. and worse his mic was louder than eds. i didn't tune in to hear pj with colbert. that was definitely not good. even ed had the look on his face when the chorus was coming of oh no.
