4 arrested on looting charges at Lake County fire site

Pretty much everybody around these parts know someone what has been affected by the big fires burning in California. My daughter-in-law has a friend who lost their home to the Butter Fire and the mother of a friend of ours is very close to losing here to the Lake Fire. So when I read about people going in to these areas to rob homes I shake my head and grit my teeth. True, the article say alleged looting so I won't pronounce them guilty but if they are, they deserve some harsh punishment.

As firefighters continued to gain containment on weakening wildfires in Lake, Calaveras and Amador counties, price gouging and looting were reported in burn areas.

Three men from the Bay Area were arrested after entering the Valley fire zone, allegedly with the intent to loot homes. A deputy patrolling the area around Hidden Valley Lake at 2:55 a.m. Thursday stopped a pickup with the men inside.

    Sure seems that way at times but then there's music so maybe that will carry us through.

    I met a lady today who said she had channeled several famous women from the tumultuous years during the Middle Ages and lived through all the wars and pillaging etc. She said with all this unrest and corruption the next civil war will come soon. She said she will be ready for it because she's seen it all.

    Oh, and our downtown had a big Oktoberfest event this afternoon. Not sure what they put in the beer.
