Let the rock fall!

I definitely say, let the rock fall! To my way of thinking, trying to hold up this rock is yet another example of human being attempting to subdue nature. Stop a slab of rock from falling as erosion and gravity would have it do? I say, "No!" Particularly in this case. This is the Glen Canyon dam we're talking about, a dam that ruined of of the most beautiful canyons in the world- some who saw it before the damn say Glen Canyon rivaled the Grand Canyon in beauty.
Edward Abbey wrote that Glen Canyon was “a portion of earth’s original paradise.”
To further understand why the Glen Canyon dam was a bad idea in the first place, read more here:

To tweak that old margarine commercial...it's not nice to fuck with Mother Nature.
Still, if it were allowed to fall - or just fell itself - seems there could be some serious damage.
(And what was Abbey's solution? KABOOM! )
