Bridge School Benefit Lineup Speculation

It's that time of year again, where the Bridge School Benefit lineup is just a few weeks away from being announced. Who will play this year? Has anybody heard anything?

I guess we can safely say that Pearl Jam is out this year. But what about Eddie?

Foo Fighters look to be done with their N.A. tour by that weekend.

DMB and My Morning Jacket are out, as they have shows elsewhere that weekend.

Pretty sure this guy is NOT popular on this board, but I've been completely obsessed with Hozier's album and because he's playing Berkeley the Friday before as his last scheduled US date (after 2 yrs of touring) and he's such a hot commodity, I'm pretty sure he's doing Bridge. I've guessed as much in various places but no one's said a word yet. He's a phenomenal songwriter and his voice is freaking amazing. I won't be at Bridge most likely so I have no skin in that game, but since you asked... I think Hozier's playing.

Now that's an educated guess, and a good one at that. Bridge always seems to have a young, up-and-coming act, and Hozier definitely fits.
  • Death Cab For Cutie are free that weekend.
  • I love Bridge School Speculation... So I'll throw out a few ideas

Alt-J...Their schedule is open and they will be on the west coast and have no northern California dates

Tom Petty - He hasn't played it in a long time and has a solo album coming out in November

Adele - They could try to replicate the success of Florence and the Machine last year by bringing in another British female singer with an amazing voice and she is rumored to be releasing an album in November.

I don't think Eddie will be there solo. It is more likely he appears next year at the 30th Anniversary
  • I'd love it if Tom Petty was there. I also noticed that The National are playing Treasure Island the weekend before Bridge, with not too many other shows on their itinerary.
  • From The Bridge School's Facebook:

The students will announce the lineup for the 2015 29th Annual Bridge School Benefit Concert this week! Tickets will go on sale Friday, September 18th at 10 am through LiveNation.
  • I'm gonna guess

Neil, Foo Fighters, The National, Ryan Adams, Kendrick Lamar,

If Kendrick Lamar shows up on the lineup, that's gonna completely screw me up cuz I will HAVE to find a way to get money for plane tix and show tix and hotel... and I really can't afford that. But I'd have to...

Honestly I'm relieved. I think it's awesome that St. Vincent, Gary Clark Jr, Spoon and the Dixie Chicks are playing, but it's not a lineup that I'm feeling I'll be crying in my pillow because I'm missing it.
  • The lineup seems to be missing something. I guess the Dixie Chicks reuniting is pretty big, and it is good to see more female acts this year, but I'm just underwhelmed.
  • I know what feels "off" about this lineup -- the lack of legacy acts, such as Tom Jones and Brian Wilson last year. All of this year's artists are from the last twenty years except for Neil and Nils Lofgren.
  • I got a seat right behind the soundboard, looking forward to seeing Ryan Adams, Gary Clark Jr, and Neil.
