No law broken?

The FAA is investigating to see IF a law was broken by the 18-year-old who strapped a gun to a drone and was firing it. Really?!

Guy get charged once for rigging a shotgun loaded with salt pellets in Mn I think to stop his shed getting broken into.
Shit like this is why these things need better regulation. Each should emit an identifier that can be matched with the owner who must register with FAA.
Or ban them.they are a hazard ._____________________________________SIGNATURE________________________________________________

They have started using them to fly over prison yards and drop contraband. Some dude got caught in Maryland the other day. A few weeks back there was a prison brawl somewhere that started after a package with heroin, weed, and tobacco was dropped into the yard.josevolution said:I can't believe gangs haven't started using these for their killings of other rival gangs ....

Yeah, i agree. These things need to be regulated somehow yesterday. It is amazing how slow the stupid old farts in government are when it comes to keeping up with the times.mickeyrat said:

The firefighters battling all the wildfires in BC have been hampered several times this summer by assholes flying drones where the water bombers have to go (for some fucking reason no one is shooting the things down immediately. I don't get that). There isn't even any way for them to know who is flying them, so that they can be punished for endangering lives and property (in some cases their drones actually cost people their homes).

A drone almost collided with a police helicopter here the other day. I wonder what would happen if one hit a plane?
My husband once suggested that with the bee population dwindling, we'll probably end up with mini-drones doing their pollenation jobs.
Progress laced with ramifications! Unfortunately, always must toss a few idiots and assholes into the mix.0 -
Well that's a great idea about the pollenating. Drones certainly could provide a lot of benefit in all kinds of ways (including law enforcement... seems like a great way to track criminals on the run without calling attention to itself like a helicopter does... privacy laws considered of course). They just need to be well regulated, like any other thing using shared airspace, and of course thst privacy issue is an important one... and the much more difficult one IMO.hedonist said:A drone almost collided with a police helicopter here the other day. But yes, regulations whether pertaining to privacy or safety or any other common-sense scenarios. Get her done!

These drones are a bad idea waiting to happen. Perverts can use them to spy on their neighbors. Hell, you can even shoot them out of the sky if they are over your house. You don't own the air space over land you own. I thing but bad things are going to result from these things.0

Like I said, idiots and assholes typically are an issue. These are generally the ones who fuck it up for the rest who are responsible.0

There was one of these things crashed into the tennis the other day. I think they arrested the guy, a teacher.

Yeah! Let's fire rockets at something and shoot it down to prevent fires from starting on the ground underneath it. That doesn't make a lot of sense to me.PJ_Soul said:

I say build 400 feet fences around airports and let the drones have free reign anywhere but there.0 -

What about outside that boundry? You dont see the risk for the landing approach corridors?
Medflights?

i don't like where this drone thing is heading.
anything unmanned kind of bothers me. i think i trust a man on board of a flying machine better than i trust some dude miles away trying to control it. it just seems like too much can go wrong. manned air vehicles crash sometimes, but i don't think most of that is due to human error. too much can go wrong when there is no person on board.
drone enthusiasts don't think they are doing anything wrong, until one of these things operating near an airport during airliner take off and landing and causes a catastrophe."You can tell the greatness of a man by what makes him angry." - Lincoln

JAG, I notice that you are kind of starting to troll my posts. I know you don't like me, but it would be nice if you at least had something real to say instead of starting to just randomly disagree for the sake of disagreeing (but for the record, I would NEVER report someone on these boards just for posting something besides seeking profit for ticket sales or carrying out an auction, so you can go ahead and keep trolling me if you feel the need and the mods won't hear about it from me because I'm not a tattletale when people are just having a discussion. Just sayin').JUST A GIRL said:

Fire rockets? What? No, that wouod be crazy to fire rockets anywhere. How odd that your mind went there. I was thinking a cop could shoot them down with a gun so that the firemen can resume work and save people's homes.

Sooner or later these drones are going to cost some lives. It's not like the old wired flying model airplanes. These have a much greater risk factor and it's probably going to take some minor catastrophe to prompt greater restrictions... at which time bands of people will start griping about gov. controls. Let's face it, too many people are just not smart enough or sensible enough or good at self control."It's a sad and beautiful world"-Roberto Benigni0

So now I am a troll on your posts only, which is laughable by the way, when all I did was point out that your idea was not so bright? Even cops shooting them down is ridiculous. Think I am trolling you when really I am replying to things you say. That's all. Don't get all the hate towards me, just trying to be part of the wave I'm riding with everyone else here into the arms wide open of Eddie. Can we bury the hatchet into the beach with a nice sunset behind it and be friends? We think so much alike and could agree to disagree.PJ_Soul said:
