You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind ...
Wow, you just called Jim corny. Thats messed up!
C'mon, Jim's sang lots of corny stuff! Doesn't make it less enjoyable.
I think I must be one of the rare people who actually saw him live. He was playing a free show at the tiny college my sister attended and she invited me. Fall 1972. He was actually very good.
I think we all have to have a round-table meeting about what constitutes "corny". (I was thinking that great classics don't qualify, but others have different feelings, haha).
With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata
He also did this, which is so freaky, but I absolutely love it. Not corny but such a catchy song! And those hips ... He is singing in a fantasy language, it was a provocation against Italians who in the 70s bought American music without understanding what the lyrics were about, just because they were famous. Or so I read. https://youtu.be/gU4w12oDjn8?t=97

These guys did a lot of corny songs and they did them beautifully. This was the original and best version of this one:
