Just saw the first one this year. I haven't been in grade school for 14 years and these things are still depressing. Damn you Office Max! They couldn't at least waited till August?
Costco has holiday decorations and wrappping paper...on the other side of the camping tents and paddleboards.
The joy of life comes from our encounters with new experiences, and hence there is no greater joy than to have an endlessly changing horizon, for each day to have a new and different sun.
I'm a buyer for the gallery that I work at and I was purchasing Christmas items for this coming Christmas in March. Try getting into the holiday spirit for that one.
My kids start school August 9th so this is right on time for them. One city here near Phoenix started school already. AZ is slowly moving to an all year school year a little at a time.

When do they get out of school now? I know that there are some schools that operate all year with a month break here or a few weeks there. You don't suffer from quite as much "summer slump" that way. Still, I also think that it isn't so horrible to have a break from all of the standardized testing because let's face it-- that's all my kid did last year.
Not having children, it doesn't really affect me (although I do get your point, mookey...reminds me of Christmas ads once Halloween hits).
It's weird how as an adult, the later-in-the-year commercials don't bother me so much. Maybe because I love the upcoming holidays that those ads signal?
I'll be honest, having the ads start earlier is pointless since the parents have to wait for the school to give them the supply list. Frankly I think they ought to send them home with that shit when school lets out for summer. I've seen Back2School make black Friday look calm. Definitely don't miss those days.
