Gorge would work, but I can't see them doing it at Red Rocks. The venue is intimate which is awesome (and one of the reasons I want to go there). The downside is that there's a reason it's intimate. It only holds 10k people. That's nowhere near big enough to deal with the masses of people that would want to flock to it.

The Gorge holds over 20,000 people. Gives it a leg up for something big and epic. How many people did the venue at pj20 hold?
    37.000 x 2 nights was alpine at pj20

It can be done at RRocks but it would have to be a multi-show event. DMB, Phish, Widespread Panic, Tom Petty...have all stopped there and play 3+ shows. Tickets will be a bitch if they play RRocks!

The only thing I'm a little suspicious of with them playing at the Gorge for PJ25 (as awesome as it would be) is that it's on one side/corner of the country. Wouldn't they wanna play somewhere in the middle to accommodate for everyone's travels? I could care less, I'm from Chicago and I'd go in a heartbeat. But maybe some people from say Florida or the Northeast would be a little hesitant to go.

Yah but that's regular shows. I would imagine if PJ played Red Rocks it would be part of tour. Someone just mentioned East Troy holds 37000 people. 2x37 is whole lot more than 3x10. I think they could pull off a regular event there, but I think it's too small for an epic celebration like pj20/pj25.

Not to mention it would suck to travel all the way and not be able to attend all the nights of the celebration. I think you'd end up with a bunch of pissed off fans because no one could score tickets :(

Whatever they do and wherever they play next year I hope it's as epic as either of these possibilities and I hope we get plenty of advance warning so I can plan my vacation time well in advance. Saving up my $$ and collecting my hubby points from now.

Too bad that choice won't be Red Rocks.

I'll tell you after I see My Morning Jacket at Red Rocks in a few weeks!!!
That will be my first show at Red Rocks.
I've been to The Gorge several times,
but never had the chance to see Pearl Jam there...
and seeing them at The Gorge is definitely a show I'd love to see!!
    :rock_on:

Red Rocks!! Only a couple of hours away from me....plus, it's much more intimate and the sound is great! Dave...how long will you be in CO??? I have that the 14th and 15th off and would love to see you. Even if it's just for lunch or something!
Red Rocks is an hour drive down the mountain for me (Frisco) so voting RR is a given.
Always try to go 2 or 3 shows at Red Rocks each year. Also hit 2 of Phish show at Dick's Stadium too.
So, What you Giving ?........ (Thanks Speedy, Alesek, & Arq+friends)
    What You Giving

I suggest you step out on your Porch.
Run away my son. See it all. Oh, See the World!

it will probably be the Gorge but I would prefer Red Rocks... amazing acoustics.
The only time I had a chance to see a show at the Gorge was the HORDE tour in 1996.
I had gone to visit my cousin in Spokane.
I was too young to rent a car and it is in the middle of nowhere apparently.
