I give credit to you folks who spent $200+ today on tickets!

I truly do! Good for You!
I sat at home this morning and did the math, and I just couldn't justify heading to NYC for this show. As much as myself and my bride would love to go spend a weekend in NYC, it was just kind of silly for us to drop $2000.00, for 2 days.
Airfare and hotel...$500 each
Concert tickets...$250 each
Miscellaneous...$250 each(if not more)

$2k for a weekend? I just couldn't do it.

But again, I hope you fine people have a GREAT weekend!!!

    People work hard.
People save their money for things they enjoy.
People have their "Pearl Jam Traveling Fund"

And all the power to them.

But I have to sit this one out.

Yeah, not to sound like a dick, but $200 in NYC ain't much. Shit, I'm not sure I have ever paid much less to see them anywhere around here. Maybe the show at Continental back in '06 or something.

$200 for an all day festival in Central Park, with 3 other big name artists and get access to a VIP area and some other goodies? Done and fucking done.

I did the math as well and couldn't justify a 90 minute set being worth a couple grand.

Based in Boston so not nearly as bad. $150 ticket and $30 roundtrip bus fare. Still though, don't recall ever paying this much to see the band and am holding out hope I can snag the freebie tix.

    $2K

That is 5 months worth of groceries for the wife and I.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, 7 days a week, for 5 months.

    Now there are other options.
I have some miles available to me....Plenty of miles
I could sign up, sign petitions, and try to get 2 of the freebies.
I have friends in NYC who have offered me a place to stay.

Still, I am pretty sure I will sit this one out.

I will try the drawings for the free tickets from the Global Citizen website. My daughter lives in Brooklyn so all it is for me is the drive down from upstate; I couldn't justify $150 a ticket either, because of my kids, one of whom I'm helping to put through college..

It would wind up being 2 months of daycare at the minimum. (Plus my wife would have to miss Shania Twain)

On the one hand this is both the only U.S. show this year AND likely the only time this band will ever play Central Park. So if you can get there you'll have a blast.

On the other hand one of the things many of us love most about this band are the epic live shows they play. This won't be one of those shows. So if you can't get there you won't be missing much.

    Paradoxical I know.

I was going to travel over to the us this year from australia for a show. Have been saving for over 12 months. That this is the one and only us show for the year means I think my travel fund will be even better next year as I too will be sitting this one out. Buying a ticket and giving some of my hard earned cash to beyonce..... no thanks.

We sit in the same place every year. Second pen half way back near the fence. It's a perfect place b/c there is room to stretch out, you can "see" the stage and the video monitors are the perfect distance. I do not need to be up by the masses (unless I win a VIP ticket anyway). I know what they look like. I want to HEAR them live!!!

Thank you fellow 10 clubber for saving my ass....again!!!

Not sure if a lot of you are familiar that Beyoncé is one of the top 5 most popular singers in the world, and Coldplay is great too. Ed Sheeran isn't my style but has some decent songs.

I will get more out of my $225 for VIP3 than I did for my $250 paid for the EV/Who show in May.

Point is the show is more than just Pearl Jam, and I feel sorry for those that can't get out of their comfort zone and enjoy multiple genres of music.
