He is a two-time recipient of the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award, the 2013 recipient of the Herblock Prize for editorial cartooning, and a 2015 finalist for the Pulitzer Prize.

Our long national nightmare is just starting ... on Kickstarter!

Hello, 

You haven’t heard from me since 2017, and the world has been a sane and normal place during all that time. To celebrate that, I have created a new collection of This Modern World, from April 1, 2020, to October 13, 2025—yes, including cartoons yet to come. Our Long National Nightmare will be a full-color, 288-page softcover book containing over 280 cartoons. (281, to be precise.)

My last publisher pivoted to “marketable” properties in 2020, which apparently did not include wry, verbose satire. So once again, I’m on my own, and could use your help. As a backer of my 25-year collection, I hope you will be interested in extending that further, by being part of the campaign to bring the last five years of my work into a more persistent form.

The collection covers the early days of the pandemic, through a literal insurrection, the Biden interregnum, and, finally, back where we started—except worse—in the incomprehensible malevolent chaos of a second Trump presidency. It’s a laugh a minute!
