who played the rest in 2003? pre-recorded?

That's one of my all time favorite songs, one of the man reasons being the drumming.
    1995: Milwaukee/Summerfest 1; 1998: Indianapolis, Greenville, Knoxville; 2000: Lisbon, London 1 & 2, Detroit, Alpine Valley, Chicago; 2006: Chicago 1 & 2, Summerfest 1 & 2 (w/ Tom Petty), Sydney 1 & 3, Melbourne 1, 2 & 3; 2007: The Vic, Lollapalooza

It was Matt in '00 and '03 completely.

Although it's extremely difficult to replicate Jack Irons' skill and flow on a song like that... and Given To Fly for example.

    Yes.

If you have the "Touring Band 2000" dvd, matt plays it the old-school way. There is even a feature where you can just watch him on the 'matt cam' in the special features.

If Matt "just played the high-hats" then who/what is playing the non-high-hats (in 2003)?

it was the japanese dragon thing they always have on stage. it serves a greater purpose than its aesthetic one!

i just finished posting my love for In My Tree in the Halifax 2006 thread. to save you the trouble of going to see it, all i said was that In My Tree was one of my favourite songs played in Halifax and it re-defined my appreciation of Matt Cameron's drumming prowess.

that song is so powerful when played live.
    i. am. mine.
