These guys go over there and see terrible shit, they take part in terrible shit, they come home and can't find a job, maybe their spouse hasn't been loyal or moved on...and they're fucked. And that is just taking into account the ones who come back physically whole. By all accounts Walter Reed is a nightmare.

Walter Reed AMC was shut down in 2011.
The research center moved out to Bethesda Naval.
The number of suicides is a total of all active duty, reserve, discharged, retired etc. The number includes vets from wars going all the way back to WWII. Not just people who fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. Therefore the older a vet is the less likely the suicide is war related and more likely the reasons for suicide are like the general population.
Either way it sucks0 -
I just read a couple of articles and that's not what they're saying. They're saying that most of the suicides are happening to these soldiers in the prime of their lives. The DoD came out with a flawed report only using national guards men, didn't combine all military divisions. Either way, the reports are fucked up and twisted to benefit whoevers writing it. But we need to bring them back.Bentleyspop said:Walter Reed AMC was shut down in 2011.

There are billions of reasons not to wage war yet we still have those that profit so they will lobby. It is sad, and it's happening before our eyes.callen said:There are billions of reasons not to wage war yet we still have those that profit so they will lobby. Sad.
Trying to scuttle the diplomatic route to slowing Iran's nuclear program leaves only military intervention as an option, which is exactly what they want of course.
The saddest part is the untold number of otherwise intelligent people who join the cause because their worldview is susceptible to manipulation.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0
